I asked Charlie about this. He said if the break had a minute he would consider neutralizing the field and not the break. In fairness he'd probably have to neutralize the break too, but the gap would be about the same afterwards. A minute in three laps seems exceptional. I think it would have to have someone from each of the teams and get a decent gap quickly to get out of reach of any individuals with aspirations who would just drag the field up. 

My takeaway is that there is no point in doing anything other than sitting in until the 123s go by, but maintain position up front in case the right mix of people get off of front so one of us can go with them. Given our pace last night before we were passed, many people feel the same.

In the event that a big break without any Kissenas got off the front and was pulling away because none of the other teams want to chase, we should take the responsibility to not let that gap get to one minute (or 10 seconds, for that matter) If we have the numbers, of course.

I will meet ya'll at FBF bc I am not exactly sure when I will be able to leave work. I usually head down Ocean and cut over to Bedford at Brooklyn College. Its a little longer distance wise than Flatbush, but not by much and way safer. Bike lanes the whole way. 

Ok this is really weird, but I just dialed into a conference call and the hold music is a piano only / elevator music version of Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up". Pretty sure this means the stars are aligned. FBF will be reclaimed tonight. 

@Scott Kuhlke I should be home and saddled up by 6pm. I live down the road from GAP on Union. I'll roll by GAP on my way, but I'm cutting it close so don't feel like you need to wait for me.

My woes continue. But had a blast until I let the pain go to my head. got talked into making a break for it by some dude with braces with 5 laps to go. Jeff looked so pro, Sebs fucking nailed it. What a time to be alive

tl;dr: floyd was easier than fort lee

woohoo! after a long season it's awesome to get a win at a race that i have had so much fun at and have come to really enjoy.

felt pretty good going into today after a really tough sunday - I knew that if nothing else I would finish today's race. goal today was to stay in the top 10 wheels for as much of the race as possible, while also saving a bit of gas for a sprint. in short I wanted a bunch sprint and was willing to burn a few matches to help that along. 

first three laps were pretty fast. I took a few hard pulls since I knew we'd be neutralized in like 15 minutes and would have a chance to catch my breath. we eventually did get neutralized, after which a pretty consistent stream of attacks started. a few looked promising, so I did my best to chase and/or motivate others to do the same. with two left I found myself off the front with a strong looking fellow and we traded short pulls for a minute or two, the gap never grew and the field looked pretty motivated to chase so I sat up and decided to save what I had for a sprint.

I was in pretty bad position on the last lap, but hitched a ride to the front ~15 wheels from the series yellow jersey who is way bigger than me and a great wheel to follow. coming around the final turn I was still around 15th, and i started surfing wheels up the field. at one point the front 6 kind of fanned out, so i went up behind them as smoothly as I could. then i opened it up, sat down and kind of blacked out, stood up for one last push / bike throw, and just barely held it at the line! 

hoping I can ride this good form to a few more late-season results
