I am! First race of the season for me, and first ever at Floyd.

I plan to volunteer at reg as well.

Expect FBF to be one of the hardest races ever. You are ready for it, and you will kill it!

Floyd races are brutal

Great weather, and I'm able to make it down there in time to volunteer--I may only be in week seven of my base training, but I couldn't resist racing any longer.
Great racing out there last night. Been a couple years for me but plan to make it a priority this summer to make it out. We had a good crew in the 3/4's with Jeff, Chaim, Niall, Max, and myself. We comported ourselves well and made an impact on the race. Three guys slipped away with about 2 1/2 laps to go and held it to the finish (including PP morning stalwart Eddie B.). Saw Erik go by in the 5's but didn't get to say hi.
Gorgeous day out on Floyd for sure...second race there and I'm addicted.  Thin group for CAT 5 yesterday of about 30.  No one wanted to play workhorse so I pulled for 2 laps, learned the hard way and finished 9th.  Will need to stay to catch you all after the 3/4 next time!
Race Report!
I’d never raced out at Floyd before last night. It’s fun, and punishing—the surface alone, never mind the efforts. I’ve been doing my 20min threshold tests out there this spring but after racing my points of contact with the bike ached in new ways. Like I said above, I’m still doing base training, so I had trouble, as I imagined I would, recovering between all those short, hard digs. My courage, positioning, and bike-handling skills also reflected that it was my first race of the season. But you can be sure that I’ll be back.

Floyd tomorrow?  Yes, please.  See y'all out there.
Yacks might wet his beak
Looks like it could get rained out.
oh snap
When does Charlie generally post “in or out”?
I've riden in hail storms and monsoons out there.  It's just puddles cuddles
Part of the concern would be lightning if there is any.
Race is on tonight, according to a post on the series' Facebook page.
Dark clouds rolling in in Manhattan. Stay safe out there if the race is still on.
CANCELLED TONIGHT https://www.facebook.com/iwillfoundationtuesdayraceseries/

I guess I'll just have to eat these homemade spiced beef and onion rice cakes for no good reason...
Cancelled tonight bros
There is a race at Floyd Thursday...Yacks wants to go
This one hurt daddy.  The rain this week sucked but the cycling Gods bequeathed us with a window.  Yacks' allergies have been so bad he's been sleeping on the couch because coughing wakes the wife.  My back was in agony after work today because I'm old and my back keeps reminding me.  Still I got in some nice training rides this week, weather be damned.  Congested, sleep deprived & achy I clipped in...with enough built in excuses to choke a donkey.  The field looked to be about 30.    But they all looked fit and ready to throw down.  Throw down they did. We were hurtling around Floyd at 27 mph for an hour.  My avg heart rate was 180.  I'm not gonna get into the #s too much cuz the Cateye dropped the signal for what appears to be over a minute during the race (may be time for that Wahoo).  Now there were splits and moves and jumps and counters and flats and near crashes because Floyd.  The wind was not bad.  Yacks had his hands full cuz there were guys with legs that looked like THIS

still...Yack sticks on the wheel.  I discovered a few things tonight.  One the new wheels are the fo-shizzle.  I rolled at 75/80 psi.  The  wheels were super quiet, unaffected by the wind and just disappeared under me.  Every other wheel set I've owned has had something that forced me to notice them (their noise, their braking performance, their flex, their stiffness etc.) Two-Yacks can't jump and attack like he used to but I CAN get low and close the gap.  Thirdly I spent almost the entire race in my drops and I'm super comfortable there.  So much so that riding the hoods now feels cramped & weird.
But I digress...coming around for the finale lap there was a move of about 6 trying to squirt away with a Jamison Capital dude piloting that whale.  Yacks jumps & makes it across (If I keep my powder dry I can still occasionally jump). I was last wheel in this group heading into turn one.  Just before turn two there was a SURGE...not an attack but a heavy acceleration.  The spirit was strong but the flesh was weak & Yacks got gapped.  After turn two the pack was on me and they all seemed to jump over me and after the move that was on it's way to sweet victory.  I employed the drift and by the time I realized I was last wheel I was first gapped.  Race over...but I soldiered on and finished about 30 seconds back.
No regrets at all about trying to get to the move...I was happy to still be in that race and I would WAY rather fail trying than fail without.

what the hell does this mean??? Massive Relative Effort???

Because Floyd

Can't win if you don't try! Those goggles look like a very reasonable idea, tbh.
A hasmat suit would be a good idea. Just avoid the puddles.
I guess I was the only one that didn't get the memo of tonight's race cancellation?  Floyd is a nice place to do interval though I suppose.
anyone for Floyd tonight?
I'll show my face.
@Phil Maronilla i'm aking the Q this time from UES so will have an extra couple matches to burn. See you there!
