Happy Hours & Social

...and he just sat there quietly at hot bird, content to talk about biking when there was such real-world news going on in his life?! michael, you fool, i would have purchased you a beverage and slapped ye on the back! congrats!

edit:  hot bird post-FBF was a great idea.  thanks to harry for negotiating with a honey-badger's ferocity and the grace of a swan.  i found it fun, and healthy, to see people in real life rather than post endlessly on this internet forum :)

I agree @brendan - its nice to see people's faces without helmets on for a change.

Sounded fun - sorry I couldn't make it. I ended up going nutz on the rollers instead of PP and it was too late to make it to HB by the time I finished. We should do it again soon, I'm also keen to meet more of the club in real life (seeing as the track-going arm is only about 5 strong at the mo!)!
yeah my gf was concerned about the lack of food.  choosing a place that doesn't have food plays right into the stereotypes about cyclists.  dang

this calls for a celebration

(please make it in July when i'm back in the USA)
Just caught up with this late. Seems to be a bit of a disease going around.  Not that there's anything wrong with it.

But to belabor the point, it does call for celebration.  And we should take care of it before WDC returns, just for spite.

Maybe a bike ride at WDC's summer shack?
Guys,

I'm looking at setting up a summer social at Dinosaur BBQ in Booklyn on June 27th - maybe something like 6-10... plenty of room for kids.

We can hoist many glasses to the growing "Family Man's Subteam" as well as the day's conquests at FBF if people want to ride back muddy :)
People around me at work were just talking about this place opening Brooklyn!  I'm in on this!
Sounds great. But where is the Tuesday night social gathering?
Is the bird no longer the word?
Well Hot Bird was less than accomodating with allowing us to bring bikes into the outdoor area.

So we may have to find a new location...I am sad I am going to miss this because I'll be in CA next week :(
@eric nahnahnahnaanaana
@ian. Huh?
Mission Dolores. Courtyard for bikes
I didn't realize this was a call to arms. I would have responded to those in need. Damn it. I'm starting vacation mode. I need invites...
i am starting opposite of vacation mode. probably won't be much of a feature until august, sorry :(  it's not you guys, it's me!  hot bird was fun.
SUMMER SOCIAL!!!
Thursday June 27th
Dinosaur BBQ

Please take a moment to fill out the doodle below (one line for each attendee please) so we can get enough space and or meat/beer/crayons... if you are brining little kids toss an age in there too.

Please put one line for each human coming. If you don't the totals for each time will be wrong.
Looks like it's going to be $25 per head, half that for kids.  Drinks are a la carte.

Major bummer, dudes - Grace comes into town that evening (not the bummer part) so I'm out for the BBQ social.  Sorry to miss it.
@tito, bummer dude...she can't come with?
Where is my anit-stoke button?
No, $25 per person for food.  Drinks pay as you go.
It never occurred to me to check the menu before saying I would attend. I was prompted to do that by Lucy  .... and as vegetarians: we're out.
Apologies.

We may wander down later for drinks, depending on how long you stay.
@Jules - do we give the money to you or pay our server?
Pay me or I'll put something on paypal later today if you'd rather do it online.
Paypal is better, unless you're in the city today and I can meet you.
I'll take cash or Yak Meat tomorrow, otherwise you can

PAY ONLINE HERE
thanks for arranging, jules.

just to confirm the chosen start time... i am presuming 7:30?

i am thinking of rolling straight from floyd to the event.  i'll wear deodorant though.
Looks like 7pm is the most popular time, but +30 minutes should be no big deal.
yeah sorry i meant 7.  cool.
