What a great idea! I can’t make it, but would like to try and join some other month
Awesome will try to make it out! If I don’t make it out, please take some pictures. Would be great to share with cycling community via the Kissena instagram page.
Thanks for suggesting this Bruce, I think it's a great idea.

My wife's running team does first Thursdays and every month one member picks a bar in their neighborhood to spread the fun around. Might be fun to borrow that idea; or another if anyone has any suggestions!
ahh got jammed up with grading these geometry papers. This is an awesome idea, I'd definitely be down in the future!
It was a fun night.  Phil M and John O were solid company for a night of beer, food and talking until 9.  Great to see you guys.  I have a feeling we resolved some world issues, but that hefeweizen memory has a half-life of about two hours.
Absolutely open to other great venues near and far, and I like the suggesting of mixing it up to meet teammates working and living in different areas.
Keen for this in feb - great idea and venue.
Hey Gang.
I'm switching up the venue for this one, and plan on trying to have these socials in different places.
In order to accommodate our teammates who live Upstate, or, from a Brooklyn perspective, North of 14th Street, we'll be meeting this coming Thursday, 2/7, from 6-8pm at

The Scratcher, 209 E 5th St, Manhattan

We've met there before and it's a great, low key place to hang out, have a drink, and catch up.
Please join Phil and me.
And bonus, I'll bring a Large race jersey for anyone who wants to try the size, since the store is currently open.  I have a couple of different types of jerseys, so will bring those along so you can see what the differences are like.
If anyone wants to try on a medium or small, please give a shout out here and see if anyone has something they can bring.
First Thursday!
Recovering from being out of my comfort zone by meeting and drinking in Manhattan (and recovery is a huge part of any plan, as you know), we're going to be back in Brooklyn, this Thursday.

61 Local, on the F line.  Thursday 3/7/19 6-8pm.

Stop by to say hello, meet your teammates, and wonder at how March is the new January.  We can talk team tactics, lead outs, crit racing, and the ongoing Pilsner vs Blonde Ale debate - the rivalry continues.
I'm going to miss this one. Bummer.
I'll miss your company, Phil, but we've got a few more on the horizon.  And these are all practice runs until we can finally get back to Pig Beach with outdoor summer seating and BBQ and music and long ride dehydration headaches smoothed over with cold beer!
@Bruce van-Schalkwyk is this still a go?
Yeah man

Going to have another one, the first Thursday of this month, April 4th.

61 Local, on the F line.  Thursday 4/4/19 6-8pm.

Stop by to say hello to teammates who may be wearing awesome kit underneath their 'other' work clothes.
I'll be there tomorrow.
Always great to see Bruce and John. Thanks for coming out.
Kissena socials... never a dull moment

Nice night hanging out with teammates.
Strava shows me I got home without issue, though not entirely clear who was steering.
Anyone have plans for watching Roubaix this weekend? Its my favorite race of the year and in the past, my friend and I have gone to Maglia Rosa in Carrol Gardens. I don't know if they're hosting again this year, but I'll find out for sure. Is Redbeard doing anything? I don't really want to go to Rapha lol.

I'd be down to meet up somewhere to watch!
What time does it start?

Maglia Rosa moved. They are now in Union Street, closed on Sundays, with a second location in Industry City, which should be open and maybe showing the race.

Union street location , bikes only , no coffee , Industry city would be a better option
I called the Industry City shop and they said they have no TV but are "working on it" lol
Ok. Paris-Roubaix is ON! The projector is set and ready. I got beer, I got pretzels. The race starts at 5:00am and ends at around 11:30. All are welcome to watch, relax and bicker together. I will be in Prospect Park for the new members ride (9:00), do a lap or two and go home to watch the riders break the cobble roads... My address: 316 4th Street, Brooklyn. Text me if you plan to come!
First Thursdays!
Come stop by for a drink and some food.  We will be discussing Thierry's new KOM duties, how a wake-up time may determine whether or not you sign up for a specific race, the fit and feel of Kask, and the benefits of tegaderm.
May 2nd, and still waiting for spring.

Looking to swing by tonight. Hopefully, it doesn't rain to bad this afternoon as I'm riding in from work.
Nice turnout last night.  Thanks, all, for stopping by, and picking up some awesome race jerseys.
I didn't get the full extent of the other half of the table, which had just as many people psyched to have some Kissena jerseys.

Happy June!
Let's have another social gathering.  Pretty excited that these gatherings are going strong.
This time, we'll meet up at Pig Beach, with outdoor seating, bbq and beer.
If you haven't been riding as much as you'd like, then stop on by to meet up with teammates and get the inspiration you need.  If you've been riding a lot but forget that wheel in front of you is ridden by an actual person with a job and family, stop by to see their faces without streamlined sunglasses, remind yourself that they have hair (or are bald!), shake a hand that more than likely doesn't have a layer of snot on the thumb rag.
As far as I know, they don't take kindly to bikes being brought onto the premises, but there are places to lock a bike up in the area.  My commuter will be friendly with a sign post for a few hours.
Pig Beach - 6-8pm, Thursday 6/6.  480 Union St.
By the way, I do eat meat but I had one of those new meatless burgers at a bbq over the weekend and it was delicious.  And it was bleeding, which was a little odd.  None of us at the bbq knew it was meatless until the host told us.  It was a reveal party, veggie Brooklyn style.
I'm in, of course.
I'll be at the Pig from about 2030 - will be eating some bbq.
