Posted By: Jeff OwensI got into Hunter-Bellevue nursing program so it's time to erase all that crap I learned.
Congrats Jeff. I just dragged myself out of bed after working 5 out of the past 6 days, 12-hour shifts, and let me tell you how it feels on the body:

Like I just did a really hard stage race.

Except I'm still fat and slow. See what you have to look forward to?
Thanks guys!

And I'm well attuned to exhaustive shift work. When I was a paramedic, we'd often do 24 hours. Then, when the other medics suddenly called in sick at the last minute and they couldnt' find anyone else, we'd get to work 36! Not sure that's even legal!

But, I'm always a bit chub-chub and not that fast anyway...
Many moons ago the fire dept I worked on had a "4 days followed by 4 nights in a row" portion of the shift. Took me about six months to figure out why I was getting sick *every month* in the same part of the shift. Ouch.
Congrats Jeff. You'll be my neighbor!
thanks dudes

really good times last night

looking forward to seeing you all again soon
It was fun man, cool spot, i dont usually wander in that part of town but I'm glad I did.
William doesn't need a small knife - he has his own:
very nice
Knew you'd appreciate that, Aly - c'est le vrai couteau de compagne!
yep I had one of those when i went to camp as a kid. a la campagne :) the latin root from which campagnolo comes from: person from the countryside.

I'll prep food, I like doing this kinda stuff.
Cat 4 grill master - will help grill - will bring shrimp to grill? orange/ginger sauce usually good on grill.
I can't make this, dudes - working then going to a birfday party. Bummed.
I will be there.
bringing green eggs and ham, Dan? ;)
Planning on coming. Is this in the afternoon or evening? If afternoon, is this a "valid ID" required event or can I bring a mini-me along (aka my son)?
I should also mention if you need me to do a Costco or other type of beer/food procurement run, happy to do so.
Kids are welcome, but beer will be present.
I have a 5.75 year old son.
and a similar w/kg threshold?

:P
w/kg = what's that keg?
In the calendar!
Ohhhh, Awesome. Can I come?

I can help with Grill/Prep but I've only really learned how to cut, dice, chop, mince, and julienne with one of these.

Let me know what I can do.
this is my chef knife at home...
we can prep together!
I use a 10" Wusthof Classic Chef's. Ask William how it works...
My 6" gets most of the daily work though.

Hey all you BBQ kinda folks - if you can figure out a rough estimate of people (do a doodle poll) and how much we need to provision for prep, that would be awesome. If you come armed with food to prep, you'll of course be reimbursed...

E
that's a henckles' special edition. 8inches, i do everything with it. I don't know what we need, i can bring the onions and tomatoes.
Are we still talking about knives?
The doodle is up - please add your name here : http://www.doodle.com/bukyqadzg2ynb7tq

if you can fill it out one line per person ala
1) David Stearns
2) David Stearns guest
3) little Stearns - kid

it will help in getting an easy tally .

thanks all!
Please doodle so we know how much food to get
also, if you are going to help prep / get stuff, please say so (or say again).

And, is anyone willing to be the supervisor of this all?
Not looking good timing wise. How late do you think?
9?
Happy to pick stuff up - costco, fairway, etc.
