Charlie raised prices by one dollar per person in order to have an ambulance on site last year and it was chaos - try as I may I just cannot put myself in those shoes.
In the abstract I agree that dope testing for amateur park races is absurd... but...
I think the prevalence of doping would shock us all into speechlessness if it were laid bare and not merely suspected; from high school athletes (and students) on up.
The pendulum has clearly swung from "come on, it's a few jerks with nothing to lose" to "you probably can't be competitive without it"
There is no real downside to testing other than cost (and perhaps a false sense of security)
If we really were ok with "honor system" we wouldn't need USAC, categories, officals or a finish line camera.
