Cyclocross!

I think you have the dates off for Town Hall and Harriman.  9/30 is a Monday.  But I get the gist..

@mperlberg No Nittany or Northampton? No Whirlybird? Both are great September races. No need to do Training Races if you've got a month from those until you race.

;-(

I guess ill race cross this year. Bringing back the old skat man.
@Andrew - we will be brothers-in-shitty-arms . . . i'm also rocking the PerfromanceBikes.com Scatooter, though I'm considering rattle-canning mine tonight . . . too embarrassed.

My schedule (either Masters 35+ or Elite depending on what people are doing). Maybe I'll hook up for some other local races.

Sept 7/8 - Nittany CX
Sept 28 - Town Hall CX
Sept 29 - Harriman CX (tentative)
Oct 5 - Independence Cross (I'll do this one as I love the course and the beach).
Oct 6 - Independence Cross - This is Mullica, so different than the day before but still a drive to nowhere.
Oct 12 -  Whirlybird CX
Oct 26 - HPCX
Oct 27 - HPCX
Nov 2,3 - CycleSmart (Northampton)
Nov 10 - Bubble CX
Nov 23, 24 - SuperCup / Club Championship (either racing or helping run the show)
Nov 30 - Probably done, but Sussex is a possibility

@ Eric - I missed the boat on Nittany registration - not going to trek out there and give up a 4-day weekend at the beach to start 119th.

I could add whirlybird. In fact, I'll sign up now.

Northhampton --- maybe if I could find some really cheap cheap cheap lodging. Otherwise, too expensive and too much travel.

This is my tentative schedule:

9/7 or 9/8 – Nitanny (not sure yet which day I can make it out there)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

9/29 – Town Hall

9/30 – Harriman (tentative)

10/5 – 10/6 – Providence (a family complication may prevent this but doing my best to get up there)

10/12 – Whirlybird

10/19 (and/or) 10/20 – Marty Cross (hopefully both but not sure yet)

10/26 – 10/27 – HPCX

11/2 – 11/3 – Northampton

11/10 – Bubble Cross

11/23 – 11/24 – Supercross

Maybe Sussex, maybe Horseshoe, maybe De Koude Ras, maybe Limestone, maybe nothing

@mperlberg. Get your license and do the UCI race. I'll do it with you. For Northampton you can probably stay with Liz's cousin.

SWEET.  Jim said he'll take a look as well.  Hope that the frame (brakes really) will have enough clearance for the tread on these tires.
it is frame clearance you have to worry about. the rims are the same diameter, so brakes will be fine. I started 'cross on a road frame, but had to look for skinny 'cross tires (27" I think).
Seat stay and chain stay clearance?  Because it's another old steel frame (surprise surprise) and should be okay with at those spots and the seat tube as well.  I think I've fitted a 32 tire in it at one point and it definitely has room to spare for a 28.

@Jules, I'd be grateful to borrow the clinchers, just let me know when/where (trying to leave work at a decent hour today)
@Yang I'll be home most of the evening text or call me at 917-817-1362
Fixing up my bike right now. Hoping to have it done in time.
it depends on the frame geometry, but when I recently tried fitting a 'cross tire to an old steel frame, I had touches at the brake binder bolt. another possible problem could be clearance at the seat tube/bottom bracket or at the seat stays. you just have to try it.

just don't use brakes - it will actually help you at the clinic!
I'll be at GAP.
I'm out.
Turns out I'm going to drive. See you there.
I'll be at GAP.
I'm driving.  Got the family man's curfew to cope with.
See y'all at GAP at 8am
I'll ride. If you're driving. Bring extra water.
