Cyclocross!

@perlberg. I think if you want English you have to pay for cycling.TV subscription.
If you are riding trainer, you don't really care what they are saying.

Anyone have a good free feed for Nommay? My holla unblocker doesn't work...
Jan 26, 2014 at 01:59 PM
@Marc - I got it to work with holla but I had to go from France.
Jan 26, 2014 at 02:04 PM
cool...I've got a free feed on fans, but very choppy. Could be my ancient computer though. My hola appears to be downloaded, but no icon on the browser bar in sight, hence I don't/can't activate it. grrrr.

TJ in the mid twenties. .. stars and stripes nowhere in sight. Bummer.
Jan 26, 2014 at 03:03 PM
Wow. Best final lap of the year.

No spoilers please

that was a fun race to watch. I called it to Luka though. He though Mouray or Waslaben. I explained Waslaben's usual fade and Mouray's diesel stye. But wow, Museen coming back like that. He's been rocking it lately and never afraid to lay down the attacks. Good for him. I was getting all nervous as the adrenalin started to flow as the last lap was unfolding. Awesome.

USA SWEEPS PODIUM. Canadian Mike finishes lowly 4th. NO canti brakes seen anywhere in the race.

Anyone have a podium pic of either/both of the Women's Elite races at Supercross from this year? please send to bertucco@hotmail.com. Thanks!

It's glorious.
Feb 02, 2014 at 12:48 AM
Haven't had a chance to watch yet...been traveling all day, but I read that Compton gets 9th after a crappy start? Guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.
She and Jonathan Page, I think, have more in common than you might expect.

I think you're too hard on her; whatever these allergies are they seem to be merciless. She chased back from a monster early deficit only to fade again...

eeehhhhh.....Jules said:I think you're too hard on her; whatever these allergies are they seem to be merciless. She chased back from a monster early deficit only to fade again...
watch this and see how early and terrible her problems are before you get too sympathetic

If memory serves, we used to have an allergist on the team. When I think of environmental allergens, and I suffer from many of them, I tend to love cross season, in part because the sniffles and sneezes go away, especially as mother nature's beauty begins to shrivel and die.
The more I watch Compton race, the less of a fan I become. For someone who is so, (self-proclaimed) detail oriented, I cannot wrap my head around the fact that she insists on racing from behind, giving herself ENORMOUS amounts of work, just to get up to the place she should have been all along.

What happened to tree farm
Feb 02, 2014 at 08:01 PM
Shark bite!
That was a great men's race. Holy crap I love the guy that won. Balls out 100% every time, win or otherwise.

Tree farm got a chainring to the leg. TJ went to hospital too. Page and Powers, well.....
Feb 03, 2014 at 03:04 PM
I'm thinking that a sports psychologist is what the US team needs most. Compton keeps giving away the biggest race of the year--front row start (again!) and she still ends up in the hole. Page and Trebon both have focus issues, though I consider it a victory that Ryan actually finished the race.
Feb 03, 2014 at 04:19 PM
That's gotta be a kick in the nuts to all the guys doing a full dedicated cross season...to be beat by Stybar so soundly after he just did a handful of tune up events and decided two days before the race that he was actually going to race.

Hey crossers with gear knowledge. Opinions requested.
Is this good?

Jeeeeebus Marc!
A 2014 Crux with discs? Sweet baby eight pound... You get the idea. Only drawback to discs is that you can't swap wheels like a sailor on a drunken binge...
Feb 06, 2014 at 04:45 AM
I vite kona
Feb 06, 2014 at 11:13 AM
@ The Kona is a good deal - but if you're looking for something for yourself I wouldn't look much further than these...with our discount you'll get a better new bike at a very similar price.

Feb 06, 2014 at 02:24 PM
i don't have 'cross knowledge but i've been pricing out cross bikes for some time now...
the kona isn't disc brakes, so that's a major point in its favor if you don't want to go disc yet (perhaps you have a shed full of wheels). with the discount, you could pay $139 more (1250+120 shipping v. .68[40& off with sales tax added back in]*2220) and get a brand new under warranty 10 speed ultegra caadx http://www.cannondale.com/caadx-disc-ultegra-compact-crankset-27866 -- but it would be disc
unlike the carbon crux and kona, the caadx has fender mounts for panniers! great commuter bike to get thee to fairway and back!

I raced a Crux pit bike for a few laps at Nittany a couple years ago after my rear derailleur got ripped off. It was freaking RAD. Best handling bike I've ever ridden. Nelson has a Crux in your size. You may be able to convince him to let you take it for a spin.
