That dude be crazy.
I dunno. A crash-a-thon in Nyack vs hanging out in the pogey with
Nigerian street purse salesmen? Pretty close

I'm looking at the HPCX registration page and I'm confused.  What's the point of categories if you're going to do age group racing?  Why not have a straight cat 2 race, a straight cat 3, cat 4, and make the masters with category 1 on their license race the elite?
Expand this thought privately to me via email?
Videographers!

Do you have any interest in helping to make a series (5-10) of very short videos with people telling brief stories about their favorite Supercross stories?

Colnago Made A Big, Fat Sexist Social Post And Everyone Is Pissed About It

It's Italy. They use sexualized ads to sell Lego.....

(Yeah that's pretty bad)
Clearly she's not ready for a ride. The bike is too big, she's not wearing shoes, or helmet.

Oh and terribly sexists as well.

Why not just show photos of one of their sponsored riders.
Colnago apologizes.

So today was one of the strangest and luckiest occurrences I've had on the bike. Ran into Niall in CP this morning. Chatting away at borderline conversational pace.

I look down and see a squirrel a foot or two in front of my wheel. Figure it wants to live so I don't swerve and hope it does. Well it didn't. The little bugger got caught up in my spokes and shot out- mostly straight up in the air, but bit to my left and landed on Niall's helmet. Hit the ground and scurried off.

Don't know who was luckier, the squirrel for being able to run off or me for getting out of there unscathed. Definitely could have got locked up in my wheel and sent me over the bars.

Niall and I had a good chuckle and kept it moving.

Safe riding team.
^ That's the danger of riding with Niall, he attracts varmints.
@Mike Garrigan !
You got lucky, and nice job holding your line.  Squirrels, I've found, are the most unpredictable in their movements.  They're like a pinball.
Chipmunks will simply run in front of your wheel, and you will ride over them.
Pigeons will attempt to fly away from you - though they don't always make it.
Raccoons will turn around and come back towards you.  I do not like them.
Dogs and children simply don't ever see you so best to give them a wide berth.
Joggers will turn around into you, or deliberately cross your path.
Cyclists will stop in a bike lane to take a picture.
Cars will speed in front of you and turn right.
Trucks will simply run over you, and see you as a chipmunk.

Thus, the hierarchy of danger.

(And all of them less dangerous than the Brooklyn Bridge on a warm afternoon)
^ You forgot Swans (yes, seen 'em on the road in PP - talk about a sign of the apocalypse) and horses.
Add to that list Turkeys and deer once you get a bit upstate. Fortunate enough to only be startled to death by a deer and had a Turkey run out in front of me while driving and turn into a ball of feathers. Luckily you can spot these guys from a bit back as long as you don't get a jumper...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtuMmBvDBME
Cue the fake video of the mtn biker getting chased by a bear in 3...2...1...
I've seen a squirrel drop straight down out of a tree onto a random peleton dude's back in a park race. I've also had squirrels bounce off my spokes. It is well known that squirrels are enemies of the Irish. When I was a kid I couldn't pronounce "squirrel" correctly and said instead "squirreler." Try typing out the word squirrel a bunch of times and try not to second-guess the spelling. Avoid them.
I would also say ducks are there between pigeons and squirrels.  A few years back there was a duck that flew into the Cat 4 field in a PP race. It was not pretty because it bounced around knocking into riders and then getting run over near the back. I don't think it caused a crash, but there was plenty of stained chamois after that episode.

That's the way i like it baby ....i don't want to live forever.
I got arrested for stage diving via a lemmy throw in Toronto in the 90's.

Le sigh.
