You might recall the 2016 story of Dimension Data Keagan Girdlestone's horrendous accident, he crashed through the rear window of a team car during a race in Italy—severed cartoid, aorta, bicep and was in coma. He grew up in my hometown, Christchurch NZ, and I've been following his rehab on Twitter. So far it's an incredible story in the making—going from 18 year old pro phenom:
to a prognosis of partially paralyzed vegetable ...
to one year later, pulling 350 watts/20 mins and gunning to rejoin pro tour. Absolutely incredible strength in the face of long odds. I sure hope he gets there.

On a quite terrible note..., Edie Perkins, former Kissena, Elite racer/runner, and all around awesomenes, was in a pretty severe bicycle crash in Pasadena yesterday. It appears she broke her neck and back. 

If you know her, send her good wishes. I got the sense that she can use all the support she can get.

Was not planning on posting about it, but it relates to Keagan's tweet.

Funny you should mention that; turning your phone off (or otherwise shielding it) and then on again triggers a search criteria for the NSA. Heaven help you if you turn it off near and/or around the same time as other people turn theirs off.
