30-40 watts more than when you were riding with the same rider in early season... this would be an interesting question for Tim.

Astana joins MPCC to gain credibility in wake of numerous doping positives, Lars Boom fails MPCC test on eve of Tour for low cortisol, Astana promptly drops out of MPCC so Boom can start.

Sounds about right.

Definitely pretty shady, although there is an accusation that Astana wouldn't be allowed to replace him if they dropped him from the TdF squad.

#CXisDoped?
This is fascinating on a lot of levels. I guess there is a new reason to train in Arizona, eh?

That website is as bad as all those enterprise software sites that leave you asking yourself, "uh, neat, but what's the f*cking product you're trying to sell me?"
WHAT?!? I may be going to hell for posting this in the dopers threat but... !!!

An interview with Bassons on the BBC. Always interesting to hear the story again.

@Vlad,

"Nerds" says the guy picking up stories from Ars Technica?

people in glass houses should not be throwing stones.

Yeah - like when he asked us to ditch Champsys and use his kit. Brilliant strategy.

Yeah, it was classic; Hubbs or Harry can tell a better story but they both went down for his inaugural "fondo" representing Kissena and the only thing he had to say for himself was that we should buy his kit instead of Charlies.

So was it Stones or Stupid?
@Jules

so it wasn't even like he directly pitched the idea to the club. He saw an opportunity to try to sell a new client and forgot that he had done nothing for Kissena in the past 20 years. Sounds like the latter.
The article is listed on the show notes on the latest Spokesmen Cycling podcast...love listening to it now

Not exactly; they went down there as envoys after some "remember when" Twitter talk. He knew what he was doing.

I just don't know what to make of this article. "I'm clean, look at my tat!" Oh wait, my testosterone is low, how about I try this totally unproven supplement?

2 years suspension or retirement...

MOTHER OF PEARLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I try to refrain from using crude or harsh language on these boards but....FUCK THIS GUY...and his team and his general manager Vaughters.   The entire team should be tossed from the race...they can take their blood bags, needles and motor driven rear wheels (I'm looking at you Hesjedal) and go crawl under the rock of untenable credibility.
"Tommy D" (D clearly standing for either "doper" or "douche").  Remember this gem of Tommy D flipping off a spectator for calling him a doper last year?  Can't wait to hear Vaughters explain this one...I'll be stalking ebay for Cannondale Super Six "E-bikes" fire sales.
Me's hoping he comes clean about doping back on the Saturn squad with Horner...

Can't wait to hear Phil "I have a tatoo so it's ok that I think Rapey Jokes are Funny" Gaimon talk his way out of this one.

Eloy...he already copped to doping with Lance...this is his SECOND offense...he is looking at 8 years or lifetime depending on his cooperation...oh I hope he cooperates and I hope Tygart eviscerates this guy if he doesn't.

Hamiltons punishment:
"Because it would be his second doping offense, Hamilton — whose first ban ended in 2007 — is facing at least an eight-year ban or a lifetime one, depending on the circumstances."

i'll take one of those Super Six E-bikes if you find one.  will be my ticket back into the Kissena paceline....
I am sure it was a tainted supplement. He is actively searching for who gave him that supplement, just like OJ is still searching for Nicole & Ron's killer.
Danielson was facing retirement anyways.  Slipstream wasn't going to renew, so he needed something big to secure a ride next year.  Don't think Gaimon's word would be enough to get Danielson onto Optum (one ex-doper for them is enough, though Zirbel had a better story), and the other domestic pro teams haven't been hiring ex-dopers.  But hope springs eternal.  I'd think that by looking at Horner's success at finding teams post Shack, it's hard to see Danielson finding any route to riding unless an angel investor comes along willing to bankroll a team just for him.
Makes me wonder about Talansky now

I wouldn't so much wonder about him, but about the team's sponsor Informed by Choice (tests supplements it seems), and whether or not the team has been testing their own riders, which they did in their first few years.

this is the first positive test the team has experienced since Slipstream has been in business.  They were going to sign Zirbel, but his positive nixed that deal.
