I love being a Fabian fan but this is some serious bullshit.

Not exactly comforting words, but he's more lovable than a panda bear...

the USA CX community (myself included) has reacted to that vid...

I went back and saw the original youtube replay, and frankly, just looks like he applies pressure but has no traction. which you know, happens, specially in supercross like mud.
This story isn't surprising, sadly...

Katusha 2nd positive in 12 months. Considering how weak the Russian Anti-doping Federation is it is more surprising that they caught him, than he was doping.

Is it inappropriate to make this comment about (former) Soviet athletes?

One guy got busted for doping, opening up a spot for another (potential) doper.

A crazy thing about Horner.  He seems to have injuries and illnesses that take forever to go away. Obviously, the claims of being sick or injured or fat could just be posturing.  At the same time, I find myself wondering if his problems stem from being on the razor's edge for too long or doping too long, or both.

Here's a study on how they can hurt:http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11074878
"CONCLUSIONS:Steroids and retinoids have antagonistic effects on growth factors and collagen deposition in wound healing. These effects can be relevant for treatment options in a clinical setting."

Its a long way from winning a Vuelta to racing Cat3s at 6AM in Brooklyn.
I subscribe to the theory of compromised immune systems and altered biology from taking doping products for too  long....think about what you are doing = altering your bodies own chemistry.  Show me the long term horizontal studies of athletes doping for....in Horner, Armstrong and Hincapie's case well over a decade.  Let's see how these guys fair health wise in the coming years.

So much this.
Whatever this ejit has done to himself and the decisions he's made , it's to clear to me that he just can't give up racing his bike, I can't believe it's for money ,
fair dues lad

FWIW, Lupus has two very distinct branches. The very real pro team, and the very ordinary CRCA club team. Make no mistake about it, we will never get to race Chris Horner in PP.

I mean, I do have aims at more than a few national calendar crits and in theory, he could be there, but I don't actually expect to race against him again (like I did back in the glorious days at Fitchburg.) before he retires.
I know all about the two separate teams...besides everybody knows the local dopers sign deals with Foundation or Mengoni...
Mengoni no mas!
Fo reals...dead...or re-emerging and re-branded

you see this in print anywhere?

I was just watching that - but I've learned that if it's good - it's probably already on the forum. Kara went to high school with Lisa, fwiw. #smallworld
