The worst part of all this, dude is not even a pro.

Ladies and gents...there may be an incriminating Strava file....since he held a car to chase back...would this be mechanical doping?

This is just old school "The Great Race" type of cheating and should be filed under "stuff that happens all the time in every race and is what sells French and Italian newspapers (or page views) because shenanigans are half the reason why people watch sports".

I'm pretty sure Brandt-Sorenson tried to friend me on Strava.  Which is sort of impressive as I bring my bike to Los Angeles about once every two years, and his KoM's crush everybody.

This story just gets weirder and weirder:

Eloy, I really loved that article, because it just gets so weird. Who are these LA Strava/Instagram semi-pros?

I guess the lesson is, if somebody is riding 4-6 hours per day, and posting hero shots on instagram of their epic rides, and have no discernible income stream they're probably full of s*** drug dealers.
Southern California seems chock full of these guys.

I looked through my rides in Los Angeles.  Brandt has the KoM for a bike path.  He averaged 29.6mph on a narrow stretch along the LA River.  He also has the KoMs in Griffith Park.  He averaged 15.3mph on a 3mi 850ft climb.  It's a category 3 climb.  (FWIW, the virtual power estimator has him at only 343w, which considering his build, seems pretty low)

For some reason, he didn't attempt the climb my brother lives on. 1.3mi, 450' of climbin, 6% average grade.  There, the guy with the KoM put ten seconds into WorldTour Pro Phil Gaimon, though I bet Gaimon was doing it in the middle of a  training ride and was lugging heavy wheels and full bottles.  5:44 is the fastest time up it, with Gaimon at 5:54.  I put in a decent effort, averaged 318w, and I did 7:18.

A long time ago, there was a circuit race at the end of the Tour of California.  And they had USAC races before the pro race.  Former USPRO champ Mark McCormack, who had only retired in the winter, as in three months earlier, lined up to do the masters race, and got something like fifth in the sprint.  I asked him why he didn't win.  He said it was because he didn't have a 55 chainring.

I will be introducing my Online Anemia Clinic/Bespoke Cyclewear Maker/Instagram Profile/Strava KOM collector called POC-Ewok LLC at a party at the Palisades Park Police Station on April 1, 2016

Ewok!!!
USAC homepage today.

Nothing like having a doper prominently featured as "We are USA Cycling".

yes, sad trombones is one of my bookmarks toolbar because it is shocking how frequently one needs to use it. In fact, it is perfect for this right now.
Boom. All the fun of a sport with the drama of a an old B movie

Damn...I knew it...You know on the hill yesterday in Prospect when I was juuust getting gapped by the front group of sprinters I was thinking this is where a phantom 50 watts could keep me in contention for a top 10 in the bunch...I can see how the temptation of using a motor could be compelling for a pro...you don't have to worry about dying...(heart attack, thick blood, dirty needles etc).
I feel like at this point...the bikes need to be available to inspectors the night before a race and quarantined until shortly before the start...I'm spit balling...I don't know what to say
The biggest hurdle for road racing is that it's a jumbled mess of a movable feast as opposed to track racing or motor sports where there is more control in the form of physical official presence during the entire event.

Motorized cheating isn't even necessarily just for winning, it can be used by domestiques or sprinters to get over mountain stages to not get cut from a grand tour.
From the times on "motordoping" (very german doubling of two independent words)

I guess we move to standard ASO-issued bikes, wheels, etc.
that should go good for the sport...

Thierry can you translate the juicy bits?

... and is there a BMC frame with motor in there?
Also, a Columbian doping? Outrageous accusations! It's the Andes genes of course.

Ah , i was convinced this was going to be about the Fleche wallonne winner
Valverde is so BS. Did the Spaniards destroy the evidence yet?

You don't need to know french to understand this part.

Di Luca reveals details of his doping in hard-hitting autobiography

"I've no regrets at all. I lied. I cheated; I did what had to do to finish first. But that's not the point, the point is that I didn't dilute my system in time…"

Ugh.

I find his candor massively refreshing.
More refreshing than "tainted supplement" ???
More refreshing than a chamois filled with tiger balm.

Jules & Yacks are you talking about the same thing, because they both apparently involve taints.
Hey John, what's that about needing translation?
