Yep this is what I meant, though agreed with Vlad, it would be difficult to hit it at a specific angle (upside down? another bike or body from above) to snap the bolts attaching it to the stem.

I'll ignore David Stokes's comments because he's always right.

If it's getting hit from above, then you've likely got bigger problems. You probably won't need to worry about your Garmin for a while then.

As an aside, the screen of the 800 is presure sensitive and not touch, so you can use the screen with gloves on. Here is DC rainmaker with different gloves:

Doing my own cabling for the first time; I've learned a few things I thought might be useful to share:

it doesn't matter what "piece" you plug into the 4-way junction box; Di2 will figure it out
USE THE TOOL to plug & unplug cables
the screws to mount the battery "rack" are NOT the same size as water bottle cage screws
Software for custom tuning/configuring your Di2 is called "eTube" for some godforsaken reason
Good video on how-to-tune/adjust
there is a seatpost battery

Contrary to published information, the BCE2 CANNOT reprogram you components UNLESS ALL COMPONENTS INCLUDING THE BCE2 ARE RUNNING THE SAME FIRMWARE.

If you have only a BCE2 then you must connect each component one at a time starting with the BCE2 (which has it's own firmware) and update to the latest F/W. Only then can you configure the whole shebang at once. Until then you have to unplug all pieces (shifters, front & rear der's, battery - yes the battery adaptor has firmware) and one at a time manage their firmware and programming.

Only the PCE1 can manage different firmwares on all components.

So, if you want to be able to charge an internal battery, you need the BCE2

If you want to reprogram all the pieces (individual shifters, front and rear der's) you need the PCE1 unless you have the patience to do each piece one by one

Here's a question about cycling computer head units...

Is there a computer that has a display with an overhead view of a map, and a moving blue dot that travels along the road with you, like on my wife's iPhone and iPad works when we're in the car?

Related, is there a cycling computer that has a "go home" button that will map a route back home based on your current location like the very old Garmin GPS unit that we have for our rental car adventures?

Thanks Dave...I have a new BB in and there was no play a few weeks ago when installed...now there is a notchiness especially drive side. I am starting to strip the non-drive side extractor bolt by torquing it too much...don't want get the crank stuck in there...Going to bring it to the shop tomorrow. I also ordered a new extractor bolt with clean threads.
