@David Yang you don't want Yacks riding your bike. his sweat corrodes ferrous metals. He is a Xenomorph.

It's true...my sweat is noxious and toxic...but still...somehow...Yack's is no stranger to the ladies
What size is the frame Yang???

Oh god, I forgot about your toxic sweat. Cover the headset and quill stem with a towel please or else they'll be seized forever, you animal.

21" c-t-c TT you'll fit fine if you can get a longer post.

TT is a bit short but I'll ride that sooie

All I know is that your road stem is like 30mm.

Also with the slammed stem, the drop will offset the shorter TT, unless of course your gut gets in the way.

Hit me up offline. And seriously, no seized stem, headset, and bars from your weird alien sweat plz.
sorry to interrupt the running of the gifs, but look what my CAADX bottom headset bearing had done to itself when I popped off the fork today!  (that inner ring is supposed to be secured inside the other one, it's not an old-fashioned bearing). luckily the top bearing from my caad10 is the same size, so I'll still be able to race Saturday

almost makes me want to cry warranty...the bearing just exploded?  all i did was ride my bike

edit: with pic of normal bearing

@Brendan Rigby strong moss game
I'll tell the in-laws you approve of their driveway moss.
@Brendan Rigby maybe I'm not seeing it, but when you assemble it all back together does it make a functional difference whether the inner race ring is secured or not?

i wish it didn't but unfortunately, it does...the star nut top cap does not apply enough pressure to hold a bearing together like that under the conditions a cross bike sees, imo.  if you screw the top cap in a lot in an effort to reaaalllly preload the bearing, the star nut simply migrates up to the top cap.  the broken bearing has already caused the frame and fork to touch in a way that they should not (matter/antimatter, priest/schoolchild, yacks/other human beings, etc.), causing paint on the fork to come off and also causing, I think, the top bearing to age prematurely (feels verrrry gritty for a top bearing with the low number of miles I've done on it)

i need to get a new headset anyway because the dust cap on the stock caadx is 25mm and the headtube is already like 2cm longer than my caad10, so it will be nice to get a lower stack dust cap and move my handlebars down closer to my standard position.  on my caadx i currently feel like i'm riding a beach cruiser in terms of handlebar position.

depends...do you want your kneecaps to pop off and leave dangling tendons and gaping holes in the front of you knees, or not?
Anybody know if Giant USA gets their track bike??  I only see it on retail sites NOT in the USA

maybe give redbeard a call
Motor-doping comes to the cat6 commuter masses:

A heavy, front wheel drive, disc cover...what could possibly go wrong?
And, of course, because the hub is so hefty, it subtly changes how the bike handles.

I have a feeling a 20 pound front wheel would do far more than "subtly" change how a bike handles...
Finally got some proper wheels for my Tarmac, and naturally had to weigh the bike afterwards (thx @Redbeard)

those are lbs not kg - not too bad I guess

curious what others are weighing in at!
You can definitely get that lower. My CAAD10 with full ultegra and reynolds assault carbon wheels comes in about 16.5lbs
I should probably get some lighter components.  I'm pretty sure my CAAD10 with the HED Jets are in the 18 range.

For reference, my old lugged and chromed Columbus SL race bike with near identical components probably weighed in the 20-21 range.  When I'm on both, I don't notice the weight, I notice the flex (or lack of).
as long as we're comparing CAAD10s, I believe mine with 1st Gen SRAM Force, and ENVE wheels comes in between Phil's and David's at about 17lb. I also have all alu cockpit/seatpost and don't go for the super lightweight saddle either.

Dan I think your frame is a 54?  Mine is a 52.  Probably not much difference (certainly not 400gs worth), but still could make a difference.
yes mine is 54, I would say much of the diff is older crappier components. Things like chains, cassettes and BB, I go for lower end stuff that gets replaced more often.

for example: I am not using the PF BB, but the GPX/BB30 adapter and a GPX BB. Those things add up to more weight.
Neat! Thanks for sharing dudes
Last time I weighed my CAAD10 it was ~17.5 but now I'm not sure that's accurate.  It doesn't have any carbon on it except for maybe the shift levers?
Nice to see you earlier this evening on the bridge @Brendan Rigby.

Stages is up to something

I hope they're up to fixing connection issues between crank and head unit.

Cloud coaching can only lead to one thing...I'll stick with @TimCusick TYVM!
