Hey @eloy , thanks for the heads up. Whom do I contact/on which thread do I post to confirm volunteering for a race? Do I register on bikereg and then get a refund, or is just a show up, grab a number and go kind of thing? Is anyone else interested in volunteering for the March 27 race?
For time being people can sign-up to volunteer in this thread for the first L&C this Sunday 26th in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. https://www.bikereg.com/lucarellicastaldicupround1 Volunteers Needed: - 4 x reg desk people (check racers license and issue race number). [update] Race on the day for free or bank it for a future race. - 1 x roaming “marshal supervisor”. This entails riding laps in the park and making sure all the marshals are at their assigned posts as well as alerting Charlie and the officials if there are problems out on the course. Think of it as going for a normal training ride in the Park while keeping an eye out for any problems. In return, the marshal supervisor can race a future race for free.
This time around, please reach out directly to Charlie Issendorf (legendary local bike racer, now race promoter) for the details on timing and responsibilities: charlesissendorf@gmail.com
L&C race this Sunday. Water should be good. Please volunteer to help with registration (starting at 5:30) and/or to coordinate marshals (on your bike during race - if you are not racing). Both jobs get you free race entry.
Charlie is looking for volunteers for Saturday's Castelli race. Same drill as with L&C. Registration volunteers need to show up at 5:30. One Marshall coordinator would ride around park during the race. Volunteers get credit to race for free.
