That's the deal. He gives the dopers he likes a pass (like Tom Danielson), but not others. It's a curious pose for a guy who claims to be opposed to doping.

All the same, who is going to argue with a guy who is taking his WorldTour form to beat a guy who dopes for Strava segments? It's somewhere between doing the right thing and a pathetic excuse to keep your name in the news.

Phil Gaiman, sometimes controversial former professional cyclist who enjoys cookies and hates dopers except if the dopers are his friends.

(I enjoyed Phil's book and most of his articles, blogposts, whatever. I think he adds a bit of levity to the Very Serious Business of pro cycling. But his statements on Levi and Horner are at odds with each other. His refusal to believe that Tom D., a close personal friend, was knowingly doping again during their time together on the same team reads like a person in denial of their loved one's opiate addiction and abuse. Kinda sad really.)

Disagree, its savvy self promotion. It reinforces his image as an anti-doper, targets his core audience through a widely used platform, and appeals to people's sense of fairness. To boot it makes for a good news story for non-enthusiasts to digest as well.

The beer mentioned in this article is a project that I've been working on since the beginning, and am proud to see that it is now getting some good press. First, what's up with the gross text to speech software narration? I've seen like the same cg demonstrations of how these could work with designs that they even admit wouldn't fly in the pro peloton (seat bag battery? lolol), but not like the actual motor and battery and switches and all that stuff from a caught cheater's bike.
