I read that the team is using them to show the kids that you don’t need a fancy carbon frame to get in to cycling, not sure what message the wheels are sending

For the past few years, Specialized has put at least one high-profile but second or third tier team on aluminum.  Saves Specialized a bundle and gives their alu' frames great exposure.

I read this article by Philippa York and all I can think is "horseshit."

Is this an article about Froome's "greatness" or an op ed about why she doesn't like him as much as Hinault?

Wait, Sky shouldn't have impugned Hinault's judgement be he has a lot of influence with ASO? Wait wait some more - his jersey colors are suspicious?

How about this - the sport has rules and the rules say Froome can compete. They also say it's against the rules to leak results, but I'm still waiting to hear what the consequence is (and for whom) of leaking.

I say that if the rules don't do the job of keeping the sport as clean as we'd like we revisit the rules, or their enforcement and stop wanking about over whose jersey looks ominous or who the French public likes better.

I don’t see what all the fuss is with Froome.  He’s not going to win Le Tour...beating him could not be easier...you just wait for him to attack in the mountains, grab his wheel and say “freeze all motor functions”...then you just ride around him and win...simple...no?

This is exceptionally good news.

He always said he was innocent and had the right to continue to race. He has been vindicated.

I am sure the organisers of the Vuelta, Giro are relieved because the last winner of their races is now confirmed. Even the ASO might be happy as it should save them a legal fight they cannot win and Froome will start the Tour.

I don't think this bodes well for the MPCC. Had Sky been members of that Froome would have sat out the Giro - so that would have been a lost year of Froome's career, a loss of significant prize money for the team and a loss of column inches in the Italian press when Italy is a big target market for Sky TV.

Hinault won't have to organize a rider strike after all and Marc Madiot ... well he will continue to be Marc Madiot.

The big question is WHY did that take soooooo long to resolve.
