WHAT
NYC Kids March for Safe Streets

WHEN
Monday, March 12 at 6 pm

WHERE
Gather at Prospect Park West and 9th Street

After a driver ran a red light and killed two children in Brooklyn, parents and kids from across New York City are planning a protest march for safe streets -- because unsafe streets pose the greatest risk to children.

Please join us. Bring flowers, and your family. We will take a kid-paced march down 9th Street to the site of the crash.

Hey @JP what's the deal with Jeremy Whittle slobbering all over Lappartient's ballsack in this "article?"

I suspect he is sour on Cookson for (seemingly) turning a blind eye to Team Sky.

Whittle has been pissing on Sky for quite a while.  He thinks Brailsford should be sacked and has plenty of doubts about Froome.  He's written a slew of articles in several publications detailing what he thinks Sky and Brailsford did wrong and his suspicions about Froome and his teammates.  As Cookson was head of British Cycling, Brailsford was under his direction and I suppose that means Whittle believes Cookson should have done something.

What's funny is that petty nationalism often seems to come into play with the selection for the head of international organizations and here's a guy dumping on one of his own. At least some other Anglophones think Lappartient is going to reinstate a French mafia in cycling.

Odd to see him giving McQuaid space to sound off on Cookson, when McQuaid seems to be pretty much getting his revenge on the guy who deposed him.  Whittle is pretty strongly anti-doping and McQuaid struck me as far worse the Brailsford, just minus the sanctimony and the knighthood.

"So while our bicycles do keep getting better, and while I do maintain that the bicycle still has the power to transform both landscape and cityscape, it could very well be that our Golden Age is behind us."

haha possibly, but after his crash at MSR I would definitely call it return.

STORY OF THE DAY:

Yack (Ya-k).

It’s an expression — a multifaceted verb that can be used in many different circumstances, such as “yacking it across to the breakaway.”

Or so says Simon Jones, who is providing clarification to the term he’s coined this week, to the amusement of his Texas Roadhouse teammates.

“yacking it across to the breakaway.”

I don't know anything about all that but I have definitely "Yack'd" in a breakaway...multiple times
This has to be a mistake, $1000 shoes

Removable booties, that's worth $500 right there.
I think the mistake would be to buy them when you can spend real money and get these:
