JP man, Caleb is half Korean which means that he's 100% all Korean to us Koreans, which also means he's the greatest sprinter, nay, cyclist to have ever cycled in the history of cycling, the end.

I said, "The end!"
High low or medium watch those sprints and see how he pedals. He's got his own style for sure.

I was lunch time browsing these gallery's and noticed how many pro set ups these days have the saddle forward and tilted.I understand the UCI relaxed the rules on saddle angle etc , assuming its just to get as low as possible

I think theres a belief that having the saddle over the bottom bracket can help cyclists put out more power?
Triathlon, for example, have no rules on bike fit and most pros slam their saddle forward and sit on the rivet (partly to employ different muscles so the hips aren't shot by the time they get to the run).
as Robert suggests, research has shown that a higher forward saddle allows for more power output for most riders. the consequence is that saddles are pushed forward, and then tilted — Tilted so it is easier to stay in the forward position.

Altho being older has all sorts of limitations, I have observed the same trend on my ocasional pro bike fits, where the fitters keep moving my saddle higher and more forward than before.
My last fit brought me down , obviously worried i had to much power !
The saddle position debate.  Ah, yes.

The forward position of Tri saddles has to do both with aerodynamics and transitioning to the run.

I think the evolution of the forward position on the road is not about power, but about aerodynamics.  Move the saddle forward and shorten crank arms and it's easier to lower the bars.  My experience is that the forward position is more about quads and rearward brings in more hamstring and glutes.

Not really bike related (actually not at all), but just saw the Nike Vaporfly can be used in Tokyo for the Olympics and I’m pretty stoked about it. I’m a fan of tech in general, especially in sport, so I’m glad the powers that be allowed this one

Only JV would pen an "open letter" that lives behind a paywall ;)
That is the most jv thing jv ever jvd
I finally got around to reading that. A more incoherent, self contradictory and rambling diatribe is hard to imagine.

This website is not cycling related, and running is the worst, but the data is kinda amazing:

I mean , how many times can you justify writing the same article

N+1, apparently ;)

This article was worse than the average, which is kind of impressive, considering how much info is out there.  No new data shared, no weighing the costs and benefits, no hard numbers of relating shape to profile.

Seems like the kind of article assigned to an intern, and he shanked it.
^thanks for an enjoyable two minutes looking for a good "shank" gif ;)
Tell me again about how PP is going to business as usual this spring...

https://www.velonews.com/2020/02/news/uae-tour-halted-after-five-stages-amid-coronavirus-threat_505611
Now they're confined to their hotels. I see an uptick in this for Zwift!
so honestly kinda hate that "tell me again" has become a thing on the kissena forum.

turned out that two staff members of a team tested positive for the virus. I'm not sure I see the parallel of a top UCI tour and racing in prospect park. The logistics, sharing tour buses, hotels, dinning rooms, water bottles, car caravan rides, none of these things relate.

I'll guess we see how this comes to Brooklyn.

And yes, as the stock market falls, the stock of companies that dedicate themselves to inside activities are rising: Peloton, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon (Zwift is not public, but great example)
Apologies for "TMA" I'll try and strike it from my forum vocabulary. It's always written tongue in cheek but goodness knows the gap between intent and "read tone" is often massive.

I think that as the panic concern increases we'll see school closures and the big cities will cancel permits for large group events. We're already seeing conferences cancelled, hard to think there won't be similar precautions for other public gatherings.

As for tour of UAE if Zwift were really really on the ball they'd have stayed up all night and built the next day's course online while shipping 200 kickrs to the hotel. They could have run the next day's stage "indoors" and invited the world to participate. Think of it as the digital equivalent of pumping out the corner in the park at 3am ;)
Also , the person who lives furthest from the park , seems to be the most concerned  =)

gonna guess that zwift is already balls to the wall full on bandwidth working on a virtual version of the olympics courses (or some such)

also guessing than in the most minimal fastest implementation it probably takes weeks to create and test a new course.

could write a long long long very speculative post about zwift spending and how it has grown..., regardless, zwift size as a company is now large enough that the days of staying up all night to implement an idea from scratch for tomorrow may be behind them, which may not be a bad thing, btw.

I can’t see how we can hold local races or do group rides. It’d be just plain dumb.
peoples we live in nyc, everything we do in this city we do in groups...

before any outside park event or bicycle ride is cancellled we’ll first hear about schools, restaurants, museums, subway, buses, gyms, uber, etc... etc... once those are closed come back to these ideas
Still heaps of flights a day Milan -> JFK. Our govt munting yet another disaster response.
