Good move by Sky. Obviously if he goes on to win further multiple tours I will completely deny making this statement, however it reminds me of how Man Utd managed their players in their heyday. As soon as it appeared that the player was on the downward slope (normally due to age) they moved them along to create space for new, younger players. I'm surprised that there is basically zero premium for a five-peat win over a one-peat, ie: no meaningful incentive for Ineos to put Foome on that top step one more time, even at the expense of Bernal or GT. That or they're playing a very long game with Bernal and hoping for something like a 10x....
