I thought I heard in a podcast that there was a UCI rule that if a cyclist abandons a stage race, they are not permitted to race again until that stage race is completed (this was in reference to Ewan leaving the Giro). But maybe it is more of an unspoken rule.

When I did my one international overseas bike race, the race officials collected all the racing licenses from riders before the start and held onto them until after the finish. I image the opposite, think about a pro athlete that's preparing for a big race, Giro, Tour de France, Olympics, actually..., any event you want... the vaccine introduces this unpredictable variable, might make you sick, stop your training for a while, etc, etc...Mark Taylor said:I assumed all these guys would be vaccinated
