I feel like I've heard similar stories come out over the years similar to this with Garmin Sharp/Cannondale/EF (I think Phil Gaimon wrote about it in one of his books too). It unfortunately seems like this is JV's standard operating procedure- cut race days/send the rider to races that don't suite them in the slightest, ignore the rider's attempts at finding out what's going on, and then kick them to the curb.

Glad to see Lawson landed on his feet after it though

I think JV has a reputation for being particularly savage, but agreed; pro athlete is a very, very tough gig.

The NYPD PBA Chief has a speeding problem.  Seems like 'law and order' is for non-police.

Weird.

Looks like the cassette fractured into two pieces.  Which is hard, even if it is a 'mono bloc' design, meaning machined from a single piece of metal.

Someone was too excited, perhaps understandably, and took the photo using the panorama setting, resulting in the weirdness of the photo.

TBH the thing that strikes me is how damn young Sagan looks. I guess that just means I'm old. He looks like a kid.

It looks like they are these bad boys (s-works vents have a steep hill to climb to catch up to the venting power on display with these).

Starting this Tuesday Specialized are doing consumer direct sale. They have a bunch of options that include the LBS in the process similar to Trek but also have option similar to Canyon that completely cut the LBS out of the process.

Specialized is also holding back 15% of stock for the DTC sales, which explains why small grassroots shops have been getting zero inventory from them. 

Feels like a watershed moment in the industry.

The website is a bit slow as likely many are hitting it, but sure enough, you can go to specialized.com and order any of their bicycles (in stock) which will be delivered to your home.

I don't see how this is good for dealers. and ultimately pisses off consumers.

Already, Specialized has been making product available online that they don't make available to shops.  I've been trying to get a new pair of road shoes since last summer.  Through the Specialized website, I was able to set up an email when the 44.5 S-Works road shoes in white became available.  When they did, I reached out to Kasia.  She checked and they were just making the shoes available through the website.

They are also available through online retail partners , 
I was looking for a pair of Shimano S-phyre shoes last year and Redbeard told me that they are not "licensed " to sell top of line shimano shoes
