So...its obvious that the Armstrong camp would want to keep the focus on "the deal" and try to implicate that his former buddies were coerced.
Reading between the lines though, I wonder if they take that tactic because they can't fire up the character assassination machine against those riders who are almost universally well-liked. Easy to trash Landis and Hamilton. Not so easy with Big George, DZ, and the others.
Further - even if these guys were coerced - might they not be obligated by their prior statements from the federal investigation? Point is, coerced or not, the truth is the truth.

Didn't Armstrong say he was done? I seem to recall him saying something about he wasn't going to fight these charges anymore.
I don't know if that makes him a liar, but it might be fair to question his own motives at this point.

As you've probably heard, Juddge Sam paks, a federal judge in Texas, dismissed Lance Armstrong's Complaint against USADA and Travis Tygart with leave to re-plead in a more concise an appropriate fashion. Here are a few choice excerpts from the Court's order:

love that red meat. Love how the author treats the cyclist in the opening collision as if the person was some sort of wild animal and the runner was 100% in the right. It reinforces my humanity so.

I believe it was left out of the article, but is a relevant detail, the cyclist was wearing a Leopard Trek jersey. So clearly there was a predatory aspect to the cyclists. Hiding in the bushes and jumping out to ambush the pedestrian, then drag the carcass into a tree to protect it from larger predators.
That or the basic theme of the "cyclist came out of nowhere" is in play here (which seems to be the basic defense of drivers who injure/kill a cyclist). Who would ever expect a cyclist on a shared bike path?
