Raced a lot in my hometown in NZ. At 16 years he won the Akaroa race — basically the queen stage of Catskills. Huge talent.

Says a publication that has not done research comparing track racing to RHC in terms of cyclist miles ridden or even just comparing the other crits mentioned in anecdotal basis. I am glad they're highlighting RHC work to minimize danger and having many course marshals, but Charlie puts on 3 races at a time, 10 racing days per year and hasn't had a rider need $100k worth of face rebuilding in many years, and spends a ton on course marshals as well. 

Since Vice has a habit of publishing sponsored content without appropriate disclaimers, I have a feeling like this is a paid post for Rockstar Games, and Vice Sports can shove it back up Shane Smiths backside where this clearly came from.

Whew!  I thought I was the only one.  It reads like a press release from Trimble or his sponsors.  

So many unsupported claims. Not a single dissenting voice or comment or even question.  I don't understand how he's now blaming the fencing for the bad crash at the Navy Yard.  

No brake bike races are going on all the time at velodromes around the world.  I realize that the author intends to mean the road, but it's that kind of sloppy, click-baity kind of writing that contributes to undermining anything the author writes.  The author doesn't deserve our trust or attention.

Even brushes with Trimble's alleged expertise seem dubious.  The motorsports connection seems late and forced, and his evaluation of the Manhattan Beach crash seems a bit far-fetched.  His hiring of the course manager tells another story--that he needed an outsider suggests he wasn't doing a good job in th past.    

I'm happy to see RHC continue.  I think it's bike racing.  But so much of the press about the race and Trimble seem like a corporate spin job.  And that I dislike intensely.

Super hard for a one day race, and she might be coming down from amazing spring form, but betting $10 on Guarnier for gold.

You don't think Vos will be back in top form in time?

I think Vos, Ferrand Prevost, and Johansson, will all the be there. This race is likely to be more interesting than the men.

I honestly dont think vos has been on top form YET.
