Inaugural unsanctioned KCC Prospect Park Race. 2 laps of Prospect Park. Finish @ the KOM line, and 1 sprint at Normal S/F for PP races.
I think this should be in kit, but if you want to wear civilian clothes it is your race to lose. Also don't get dropped, because your 30 minute allotment may be in jeopardy.

@Dan - i signed up for the annual contract Monday last week, and I'm still waiting for my key. Did yours take this long? I thought I would have it by now.

They're saying 14-21 days right now. Mine took a week, but I got it pre-launch, they went from 11K to almost 40K in the three weeks since launch. Took my first Citibike ride this afternoon. All went smoothly except I don't like not having a top tube to sit on while I wait at lights.
I think they need more bikes. All that stations near my office in the Flatiron district had only a couple bikes available.

@jim_nelson - More bikes won't work. My home station is always full after work. They need to optimize redistribution.

The three stations around me are often chock full, but it's Williamsburg. Like you said, I'm sure they'll analyze where the most demand is, but it will be hard to put many more stations in some locations.

Put GPS on the bikes (where you can see it) and credit you for redistributing them as needed...

GPS should be programmed to detect when people are riding the wrong way down a one-way street.
Once detected, riders should be physically ejected. The rear wheel should be locked so that once they pick themselves up off the street, they have to walk the bike back from whence they came. Only then will the rear wheel be released. And overtime charges will not be waived for delayed journeys!

Here's a note on the Citibike webpage:
PLEASE NOTE: Due to higher than average numbers of sign-ups during our launch weeks, turn-around time for keys/membership kits is currently ~10 days. We are working to add capacity to speed this up. Your membership period does not being until your key arrives and you activate it online. Thank you for your patience.

I'm 3/4 finding big PITA problems with this thing.
- Grossly inaccurate status of free slots on the iphone app
- Broken stations where a bike cannot be returned
End result is that while it's frequently easy to check these things out, finding a "parking" space for them takes so much time that it would have been faster to walk.

Anyone know if they still have the deal where you can pickup your key in person if you are tired of waiting for it by mail (and want in on the hilarity that will be a citibike race).
I am curious how big their key delivery backlog is. Last week they tweeted about mailing 3000 keys a day. They look to be getting 900 to 1000 new annual members a day. So with 2000 or so extra mailed a day, how much of a backlog are they processing?

Major backlog. I ordered mine on day 2 after program went live and got it yesterday. But I know nothing about in person pickup.
