The Food and Drink Ride

Okay, looks like it might just be me, Stearnsy, and mayyyybe Aaron (can you confirm?).

Anyone else?
Hey Yanger - what say we postpone this one since everyone bailed? I'll try to join the next one instead. I wouldn't mind a day at the beach anyway....
I'm okay with that. I plan on doing it on the following Saturday if people want to join for that one.
I am planning to hit the track of you're interested... :-)
Sunday, home dog. Gonna try to hit up training session with Kieran and Andy.
Alrighty, second try this Saturday. If you guys are intimidated by the prospect of all day eating, willing to do a an easy paced ride up over the GWB and hit up a few spots on the way back into Brooklyn.

So who is in?
I'd love to do this, but it happens to clash with some plans. Count me in for the winter edition -- when my appetite for food soundly trumps my appetite for riding.
Will do, might have to incorporate soup dumplings and shabu shabu and hot chocolate during the cooler months.
How can we work post-race Chukko into the plan? Or just Chukko?
@Jules - never heard of the spot.  I will have to do some reconnaissance work...
BUMP!

Calling all gluttons.

Let's kidnap Yang and make him do this again...!
Ooh pregaming for Thanksgiving, good idea...

YUMYUMYUM!
BUMP

Is there interest in pulling this off again?
Definitely yes!  Ideally we would end with Six Point on tap somewhere.

I believe that goes without saying.
Maybe start planning now and wait until it gets a scoach cooler though.  Also by then the death grip my newborn has on my spare time might be loosened...
I'm so down for this.
Here is my suggestions for an itinerary/food selection. You will notice it is very sandwich heavy, because I believe sandwiches are A) the perfect food. B) easy to share with friends C) Easier to eat on the street than most other foods.
Bring your pants with an adjustable waistband. I predict distended bellies and greasy chins.

I also like the idea of throwing in a papaya dog in there somewhere.

Nope. You'll be going to music and me classes.
It goes without saying I'm into this idea.
I haz a sadz.

Dan, I'd like to add in possibly 2 things

My good friends' ice cream shop that just opened to critical praise.

And depending on route, a scenic outdoors rest stop at LIC Landing which has beautiful views of the east side skyline, and also local craft beers on tap (I think they sometimes have SixPoint) that we can enjoy on the riverfront. Full disclosure this is also a friends place and one that I am a very very very miniscule investor in.

Ooh geez and how can I forget pizza and a good bagel and lox sandwich!

Prince street pizza, one of the original original rays. The square grandma slice with pepperoni is possibly one of the more amazing things you can eat in this world:

And park slopes own bagel hole has IMO the best old school bagels. Bonus points for being close to Prospect Park.

Please!
if you are stopping at Prince St. pizza, you might as well also hit Lombardi a block away.
Maybe I am showing my bias but I was intentionally steering suggestions away from pizza and bagels because they are heavy and even the best ones are sort of a disappointment
Dan, very good points but I think Prince Street's square slice is unique enough to make it on the list (depending on route and number of people).

Also if we end up at LIC Landing, if we figure out a date I can try to coordinate with them to make sure they have Six Point on tap.
Can we schedule something for September or October?  I'm not hip with the CX schedule, so you guys who are can decide.

Sounds perfect
Sooo...CX racers - up to you guys when you want to do this.  Or if you want me to just pick a date...
