Yep, I confirmed that's its essentially the same design scheme as the Apex jerseys (but of course no zipper!).

I second Dan’s review of the weather guard jersey. I bought it with the intent of wearing it on cool and rainy days while training or warming up for CX races 

Today was not cool, but it was somewhat wet. The eVent fabric seemed to do its job of keeping me dry, but it wasn’t wet enough to really test the moisture wicking properties of the fabric. 

The eVent material does not stretch much at all so not only is the jacket snug but the arms feel skinny. If you’ve got arms like Chris Yack, this jacket is not for you. Even the rear pockets feel really tight. I think I may have heard a stitch pull as I was pulling my keys out of a pocket. No way you could get a water bottle into a back pocket. 

I usually wear a medium and if I gain a few pounds might not fit into this jacket due to its lack of elasticity. I could have gone a size larger, but suspect that it would have been a bit baggy. Hence the dilemma: look fast or be able to move my limbs. Hmm...

I am still hopeful that it will be my go to jacket for rainy weather, but suggest that you be ready for a tight fit and order accordingly.

In the spirit of Dan and Patrick, I want to add a bit on the Tech Fleece Jersey.

When I took it out of the bag, it felt heavier.  Then I weighed it.  the old small tech fleece jersey weighs 280g.  The new one weighs 340g.  I expect it will be a good bit warmer.  

Is the blue one the same weight as the white

That's because they used left-handed weave in a chirality-suspended polymer. The extra 60g are from coating that won't shed in a mill designed for right-handed weave.

I wore the tech fleece long sleeve jersey for the first time yesterday. Fours hours in slightly damp and windy low 40's for four hours and I felt perfectly comfortable in that jersey with nothing but a sleeveless mesh baselayer underneath. Never too hot nor too cold. A quality piece of kit if you don't have one already.

A quick update on my weather guard jersey. I’ve had a chance to wear it multiple times in rainy conditions.

First observation: it handles rain well. My core continued to feel dry. The fact the interior is fleece (like the tech fleece modeled by John O. above) is nice. 

Second observation: the material seems to stretch more after several washings. I no longer feel as if I am wearing a girdle.

Finally, I was wrong in my earlier review when I said that I couldn’t fit a bottle in my pockets. The center pocket is indeed large enough for a bottle. 

Has anyone ridden either or both the Fizik Artica or Specialized Defroster shoes?

I'm looking for a waterproof MTB/CX shoe.  I'm a bit bummed that both are insulated--I'm concerned about overheating.  The Specialized appeals because I might know the fit and it has the Boa system.  But the Fizik has threaded inserts for toe spikes, which I think are essential if such shoes are to be used in 'cross.

I have the fizik x5 boots , that I use for commuting and Cunningham , they are pretty heavy and took most of the winter to wear in 
Good for water repellent , surprising not as warm as I would of imagined, still better than shoe / overstock combo
it can’t testify how the lace system would hold up in a more competitive situation
