BTW they stream these amateur zwift races live and with commentary which seems kind funny, but hey all in good fun!

I requested to join a while ago but don't think I got the thumbs up yet.

Good fun tonight, although I sucked. Having the open chat line really is a game-changer.

Thanks again to @David Yang for getting this rolling.
Agreed! The zoom chat didn't make it easier but def made it more enjoyable. I'm not sure of the official results but I feel like we were really consistent and stuck together for the most part!
Good times at the virtual races last night. The zoom call-in and having 5 of us in the race made it a ton of fun. Happy we could coordinate!

I borked the start by not stopping pedaling when the gate opened and not starting my stop watch right then - our final time is +/-2 seconds.

Sadly it would not have made too much difference since we finished last! Womp womp.

Based on our collective w/kg we were pretty competitive with the other teams, but somehow the winning team finished 2:35 ahead of us while our most immediate competitors finished just 17 seconds ahead. There may be some data discrepancies according to their bulletin and their last update date/time, so we'll see if that changes any ofth

Details below (Kissena is in Americas East Division 3B)

Oh and here's the Zwiftpower data to see just how these teams completely crushed it. (Hint: Sort by watts and look at people's raw power numbers - not their w/kg)

https://zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=1228161

Yikes, last looks bad but being down 2:35 from the win over the course of a 45-ish minute TTT doesn't feel so bad.
Yeah I would have loved a better result, but overall I'm happy with our numbers. If you look at our first split I think we definitely could have saved 5 - 10 seconds with better coordination. I think it was during the second split we soft pedaled a bit to regroup after Rich lost his HRM or power connection.

All in good fun!
Matt Allen is a unit.
I'm definitely pleased with our numbers. Did not think I'd be able to put out nearly 4w/kg given the (lack of) riding I've done in the last couple months. What's truly absurd is the assumed exertion these dudes were sitting at, top 9 guys were all solidly under 170bpm for the whole thing, multiple guys pushing 300W+ and cruising under 140bpm. Though we were up against some engines I bet we had the most fun!
You guys won , don' t trust the results  =)
Looks like there's a new indoor training game in the virtual town.

https://ridehustlecity.com/

It's supposed to contain both video gaming and riding.

Signed up for beta, though it looks like it's still a really long way off. I like that the concept is different even if it seems like a throwback to the fixie/alley cat thing from 10 years ago.

The RGT game marketing folks decided to send out an email to remind people they're still around. I should try to give them another try this weekend, see if any improvements are there since the spring.

I've been meaning to try RGT again. Eager to hear how it is.

Welcome back to the Zwift Racing League!
Stage 7
is taking place on Monday 23rd (Premier Division) and Tuesday 24th November (Community Divisions) in Zwift's newest world - France. Custom distances of Petite Boucle (yes - we are using the correct French spelling) is the course of choice. The course is super-flat for the most part but don't be fooled - there is one significant climb of 3.7% average grade over 2.9km - comparable but not as long as London's Box Hill and Watopia's Volcano). We have very kindly offered 0 bonus points for this as it is not an official segment (yet).

Take in the beauty of the French countryside as you race through 47km (Premier, A & B divisions) or 36km (C and D divisions) of glorious route goudronnée before checking out the results at www.wtrl.racing

In!
In.
47km and a steep climb? This looks rough. That said, I'm in.
Yeah, the field is going to explode (even more than usual) for the first sprint, the punchy hill right after, and then the next sprint immediately after. I'm curious to see if the sandbaggers stronger riders will still be full on racing before the big climb and if not that would be an opportunity for others to catch up to the front group.

Yo lowkey would suuuuper sweet if we could switch to that sweet sweet C/D finish
Do you all want to do a zoom/meets call in again tonight?

First 20 minutes - NP 269w, heart rate avg 184.

Last 3 minutes - NP 305w, heart rate avg 192.

First 20 minutes felt absolutely terrible.
Fun times, glad we were able to regroup and apply some sweet team tactics and sweep the podium... In our little group of 5 to take 40th or whatever, haha. They never saw it coming.

Zoom call was another success, way more entertaining this way.

Next week should be another TTT.
Brutal demonstration of rolling over the other 2 riders in our group.
Those poor dudes didn't know what hit em. Hell of a 5k drag race by @David Yang at the end. Very impressed and very tired.
I can appreciate the fact that the guy on the winning team was displaying as "B. Sharp"

Not to complain too much but I really don't understand how those guys are still in the 'B' category. Back in April when I first started Zwift racing with y'all I got promptly booted up to the 'A's with anything above 3.8W/kg and those were 170+ avgbpm efforts. These guys are cruising at 3.8 averaging 140bpm and aren't auto-upgraded, I don't get it!

Like if you look at the profile of the dude in 5th yesterday, you see when he puts in efforts averaging 170+ like we did yesterday he's pushing 4.5W/kg. Not to mention he has A races in his result list. It just don't make no sense, man.

Tuesday Dec 1st, 7:47 PM: Team Time Trial week - We need 4 riders to get points. Fastest Team gets 20 points, 2nd gets 19, 3rd gets 18, etc.

* KCC is 2 points behind the team immediately ahead of us in the series.
** KCC is 1 point above the team immediate behind us in the series
