ok, I’m in the corral. Don’t see anyone else with the bumble bee jersey, lol
Nathaniel had problems with computer, so was all alone. Didn’t did súper but well enough given a tough weekend of training.

3.9w/wk which yielded into about 38min. Though the site says 47 due to the lag I thing. Oh well, missed ya!

As a reminder:
If you're thinking of racing, even once, for this series, please DM or slack me your Zwift ID so I can add you to the team.

You can find it by looking at the URL path when you try to download a .fit Activity file from your Zwift account (annoying but straightforward):

Contrary to its name this course is no relaxing day at the beach. There will be no time for playing tourist and snap selfies with the sea lions as you battle it out for First Across the Line and Fastest Through Segment points on the sprint. To see a full list of points on offer click here.

I've got my second shot tomorrow afternoon so I'm gonna play it safe and say I'm out this week unfortunately
Vaccines over racings!

(That kind of rhymed? I tried.)
My friends, the weather is ridic and I've got a small window to enjoy it and also enjoy doing kindergarten homework with my small roommate. I'm skipping, but feel free to rock out tonight. I'm rooting for you.
I rode in the rain on Sunday and it was the nail in the coffin for my disc brake pads. So the punishment for riding outdoors in shit weather was to race indoors in beautiful weather.

It was all flat apart from a few short, punchy kickers and as always, it started out super dummy hard. I missed the front selection of about 12 riders on the first ~30s climb. I hung with the second group and ended up 18th/64 which I’m p happy with all things considered. Heart rate was 177 for almost an hour so I don’t think i could have squeezed out much more.

This race had the steam roller power up which is waaaaay overpowered. It apparently “reduces rolling resistance” so that if you go over a digital dirt section of road, your bike doesn’t slow down at all. I ended up with it a lot thankfully but always found myself off the front of my group with other people using the same power up. It was very very noticeable lol. I wonder if they’re gonna nerf it at some point.
Alrighty, if peepz are still interested, here is this week's race!

Anyone up for riding a TTT tonight? As usual this series, the 7:15 start time is rough on my schedule, but I'll sign up and hope for the best.

Oh also they finally sent info on "team car" view - which is basically joining the race and then using fan view using the companion app:

TEAM CARS / DS / Camera Cars
  • Team Cars should sign in to the E pen and utilize Fan View on the Zwift Companion App to locate and watch riders. ZWIFTINSIDER HOW-TO
  • Any Team Car entering race pens must not leave the pen under any circumstances. Do not pair your trainer or power meter.
In! Hopefully I'll make it back from work in time!

I've only done a few regular Zwift races, but never a TTT. How would this work exactly?
Unfortunately gonna sit this one out and try and get myself outdoors though. Godspeed everyone and if you’re planning on Zwiftin today anyways definitely join in!

Dan, essentially you chat and ride with your teammates and try to take turns pulling. It is definitely way less hectic than a normal Zwift race and a bit steadier for sure. Still a super hard effort. You should hop in!
I've only done a few regular Zwift races, but never a TTT. How would this work exactly?
Would need to coordinate by everyone getting on a shared call in meeting (we've been using Google Meets) and coordinating start + cadence throughout the race. Bulleted notes from last race series:

Notes:
- *STOP PEDALING 10 SECONDS BEFORE THE RACE OFFICIALLY STARTS*
- Kissena's start delay is 1 minute (***THIS IS UPDATED FOR 4/27/2021 RACE***)
- I will give everyone a count down over the call-in
- When I say "GO" we start pedaling around 400watts until we get into a group. ***This is crucial that we try to gel as quickly and efficiently as possible***
- Approx 1 min pulls
- Time is stopped when rider #4 crosses the line
- The "birdseye" view is best to see how well we're sticking together.

*We'll need someone who is definitely racing to set up a call in using Meet or Zoom, etc.

Also note tonight is the KCC pre-season webinar at 7p in case you want to do both at the same time, lol...
Wait, wasn't the webinar last night? Or was the date changed?
LOL OBVIOUSLY THIS PANDEMIC HAS BROKEN MY BRAIN.
Damn, second webinar I missed. Should have put it in my calendar.

Anyway, if anyone is hesitant, I’d recommend for you to join the TTT, they are super fun. Though I have visitors from Mexico at home, so I will be sitting this one out.

God speed to time tríalers
@Nathaniel Picard Busky are you still in?

@DanSztanga ?

Looks like we just won't have enough folks to make this work. Think we may need to hit pause for a while since we'll all hopefully be tearing it up IRL.

Will be on later in the evening for some chill miles!
Would have been fun if we had enough people.  :/

I'll be hopping on at around 7pm for as long as my next episode of Sigma Sports presents Matt Stephens Unplugged runs for.
Sorry friend, 7:15p is prime time for work/life - kind of a bummer for this WTRL series.
Zwift race tonight - again, tough for me to join at 7:15p, but will make an effort if a team of 3 need an extra man to start to gain series points:

RACE 5 INFORMATION

gonna hope into the Zwift future works races at 7:30 in the Bs (10 mile ripper that ends up being like a 20 minute effort)
Team Time Trial Tomorrow!

I think it's been tough getting everyone together to race like over the pandemic/winter, but if there's one event that's actually pretty fun to coordinate as a team, it is the TTT!

I can almost certainly dedicate time for it tomorrow which means we need 3 more riders to make it count (and level the playing field). Any takers?

Agree, the TTTs were especially fun to coordinate (or salvage botched starts!). I just couldn't get the evening time slot to work this time around...
So is that a yes for tomorrow?
