The Verge store is showing me a shipping charge at $25.50, regardless of how much is in my cart. Is this a standard shipping charge for any order? Their site shows 3 different shipping charges that don't appear to apply to my cart.

Had a back-and-forth with Charlie I on Verge fit. It might help others, so here goes...

JP: First, I’m looking for a speed suit. I’ve never been able to tell what the real differences are between the versions. Yes, I see there are instances of different paneling and I can see the different material. But I can’t figure out why I’d chose one over the other. Kissena is doing the strike over the sprint or RFF.

Charlie: You're right that the differences between suits can be subtle unless you know what to look for. Kissena is using the Strike Carrera Speedsuit, which offers a race cut fit with upgraded fabrics, longer sleeves, and bonded details for a clean, modern look. It’s a great balance of performance and comfort. The Sprint and RFF suits are a more aero-focused suit—generally too aggressive for most racers. These products were developed for the Intermarché-Wanty team we sponsor.

JP: Second, sizing. I’ve read the site. I’m not clear on how I should figure my sizing. In Champ-Sys, I’ve been wearing XS skinsuits for ages. Should I stick with this? On jerseys, I seem to be between a small and xs in champ-sys. The xs generally fits better, but the small has better-sized pockets. How would you say the sizing goes? I’m also seeing short legs get longer across the industry. Is Verge following this trend?

Charlie: If you’re XS in Champion System skinsuits, there’s a good chance you’ll be XS in Verge as well, but I’ll flag that Verge’s Strike cut is snug and race-oriented—definitely on the fitted side. If you’re in between XS and Small in jerseys, I’d lean toward XS for a tighter fit or Small if you want a bit more breathing room and pocket capacity.

JP: In terms of the Tor vs Strike shorts, what do you see as the salient differences?

Charlie: Short Length

Verge offers three bib short lengths:

Standard – 8” inseam with a traditional fit.
Long – 9” inseam, now our most popular option. (Listed as “Long” in the Kissena Team Store.)
Pro Tour – 11” inseam, extremely long. For reference, I’m 5’8”, and in size Medium, these fit more like knickers on me.

Keep in mind that bib short length is somewhat subjective. Since bibs fit snugly, how they sit on your legs depends on personal adjustment. When I put on a pair, they initially stop just above my knee, but I reposition them—usually pulling them up—until they sit right at my tan line, where I prefer them.

TOR vs Strike Bib Shorts

The Strike Bib is our most popular model—performance-focused with a compressive feel and comfortable straps. The TOR is a higher-end option that uses more technical materials. If you want top-shelf race gear, TOR is it. But Strike holds up incredibly well for racing and training.

JP: With socks, are the uppers, the tubes, sized wider as the sizes go up? Or do they maintain the same circumference?

Charlie: Good question—yes, as you go up in sock size, the upper/tube does get slightly wider in circumference to match larger feet and calves. The difference isn’t dramatic, but it’s proportional.

New Verge kit delivered for me too. Initial impressions:

Very good quality!
Everything feels more snug than CS equivalents
Jerseys - Tor (race) size small fits like a Strike ("training") size xs. Both feel skin tight and aero, as is the style of the times. Both are very compressive.
Bibs - Outside of material makeup (tor uses more polyester, strike uses more polyamide), I can't tell the difference in fit or design between Tor and Strike.
Small bibs feel smaller than ChampSys, though CS kit might be stretched from being worn-in.
Winter fleeced long sleeve jersey feels oddly sized... loose arms, tight body.
CX skinsuit - I bought size xs as skinsuits are supposed to be skin tight (duh), but I tried to fit the legs in and immediately gave up - I need to size up to a small.
I'm going to miss the 4th water resist zippered pocket on CS jerseys.
Aero socks - I know they're faster, but... they're very goofy.

I am in the same boat.. my Medium jerseys are more like Smalls if I were going off champsys. The L skin suit fit, a bit snug in the top, but wearable.

Before I try to do size exchange, anyone do the inverse and get Large but want medium? I got one white and one blue short sleeve jersey

This is like a Hemingway story for cycling kit. My socks fit, Jersey not so much but I've been burned by cycling kit before so I didn't order much. Size L Strike, I wanted a snugger fit but not quite this snug...maybe I can make it my winter goal.

So far the verge aero socks seem like they will stand a chance of staying up, unlike CS which had little to no grip at the tube opening. Always drove me nuts. These are funny… a bit like my tornado tattoo.

Fit is very much on the snug side, whereas I feel like CS is more generously proportioned, even with the race cut stuff. Verge Tor line is definitely meant for svelte racer types. Strike feels more forgiving and personally feel like it's a better fit and value over Tor.

Happy to meet up during the week over food/drinks/desserts so people can inspect the goods.

Skin suit for sale. Never worn.
