I'm home early to remind all of you to put on a new set of tires for the winter.

After puncturing my rear tire on Wednesday, the sidewall gave way on my front tire this morning. Mercifully, it was near the GWB so I was able to put in a boot and get back across the bridge before it blew out again, at which point I resorted to the subway. I feel a little dazed from the lack of exercise.

sorry about that dstokes, training fails are the worst.  last night i had an invigorating outside ride for the first time in ages.  happily turned to my strava after the workout to objectively verify my subjective feelings of achievement.  only to realize strava thought i never started moving.  aggravating.

Nice CX skills by Stokes when his front tire assploded going full-tilt downhill. He was adamant that we leave him — was Strictly not open Stokes? Then Yang double flatted, which we realized about 30miles later. River Road is a bit sketch, with lot's of loaf sized rocks and one section of walk bike sheet ice.

I stole all the sprints, sporting festive pine tree antlers.

Woke up late and TTed my way up to GWB and caught the group just as they were heading off down the hill to River Road.  Stokes is a svengali for keeping his bike upright after the blowout.

Yep - that was me, John. Great riding with you gents regardless of the wet, salt/muddy/icy road grease in our face, we're in knee warmers in late December!  Had to head home after Alpine. Im so out of shape, my chicken stick legs desperately need blood flowing through them again. Salud!

Great seeing you boys out early for the ride up. I could've turned around at the bridge with that kind of workout under my belt for the day. With this kind of weather that decision didn't seem to make any sort of sense, so out to piermont I went. Thanks for a great day and happy holidays.

...was just dave sharma and i today, without splash guards!! - good mix of social and great tempo. muddy and nasty as all hell, but man, the weather made you forget. I turned back around at alpine and dave kept hammering to nyack. Thanks for the ride today, dave! 

I came late to the party and met up with Dave Sharma at Piermont (saw you exiting Alpine Joel). Astounded how few Kissena's were out given the stellar weather — Vlad?! 

Super-fun riding w you guys today. Hardmen abound in kissena. Don't think this white kit will ever be white again..

Fret not John, I don't know where Stokes was/is, but JP and I are both out of town for the Holidays. Before I started crossing, the most I ever saw Stokes was on winter weekend rides. 2014 baby! Looking forward to leading worm-hole rides when Piermont makes us snore.

OK. I was out in a kind of surrealist fog. Changed both tires after the front wheel blowout debacle on Saturday. As I'm descending the steepest bit toward the River Rd entrance thinking about the previous day's blowout: BAM. I get another blowout at EXACTLY the same place. I put in another dollar bill boot and suffer a second flat in my rear tire as I limped back across the GWB to the A train.

5 flats in 4 days in 4 different tires!
Total mileage for the weekend = 20.

Crap on a stick, that's some tough luck.

Anyone want to go for a ride up to Mattie's tomorrow (thurs the 26th)? Thinking 8am BB.

Sorry for the late notice, but Eric and I just made a game day decision to ride to Cunningham Park and then into the woods for a while on 'cross bikes. Meet us there at 10am in the parking lot of the sports center (next to the tennis courts).

Thanks for the invite, but I'll pass. Think I might hit the computer sinner later. Tear it up over aft Cunningham.
