FYI: just in case anyone is thinking of rolling out to Jersey early tomorrow morning... I can't make it after all. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't. As for me, I have too much prep to prep for my voyage home to SC, departing in the afternoon.

We have CONTROVERSY. Much disagreement over the proper finish lines for climbs. Next time I'm bringing spray paint to definitively mark it!...and an entire sewing kit to give away. I'm definitely gonna have to get in on these rides in the future - they sounds like a barrel full of monkeys!

Still, I had a good ride today - Piermont and the switchbacks of Ash St. and Hudson Terrace, route 28 to 9W, back through Nyack, etc. Good tempo pace with some hard climbing efforts and my lame attempts at sprinting practice.

It looks like a great opportunity to do a Bear ride this Sunday. Anyone else up for it? I will be at the GWB @9, you can turn around whenever

Wojciech how long does it take to ride out to Bear and back?

I'm thinking around 6 - 7 hours without long breaks. I usually avg around 16 mph solo up there (9W up, seven lakes drive back through SUFFERn and Rt 59 to Nyack -- which is mostly downhill).

More riders more speed.

My last ride up with JP and back solo, with a few extra diversions off the usual straight and narrow path was 7 hours in the saddle. That was starting 15 minutes from the GWB, fyi.

I have been relieved of my asinine sat brunch shift that has kept my general state of depression at a near all-time low. Starting this sat July 9 I am no longer bound to the idiotic servitude of working brunch in order to satisfy so dumb ass restauranteur's wet dream of serving brunch which as anyone with a brain knows never shows a profit and is the 7th ring of hell for all employees.
That said July 9 is a limited race calendar, ATMO. I'm skipping dropping $25 to ride around PP for 1.5 hrs and plan on heading North. Leaving Greenpoint around 8 or 9. GWB about 45-60 mins later. All TBD at this point. The ride will take shape by as I receive inquiries, etc THAT ARE TO BE SENT TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS listed below. I will disregard ANY and ALL posts here.
That said here is a little general info:
Probably 75-90 miles round trip from Brooklyn. That's about 100km GWB start and back to GWB. Route will be hilly. Pace will be tempo to fast. You will be dropped. I will be dropped. But no one is left out in the middle of nowhere. There are always regroup spots. Minimal stops. Bring food, water (we will stop for refills as needed) and tubes, air/pump/etc, and make sure your ride is behaving well the night before. Mechanicals suck. Probably not the best outing for anyone not already racing and possessing a bit of form. Anyone racing Sunday? Wait until another weekend.

I highly recommend riding with Keith. He will kick your ass. And then expect you to kick his. But you better have some fitness. If I wasn't racing Sunday, I'd be all over it.

I'm going on a super easy spin with some people that don't ride much these days, but used to race and are trying to get back in shape. One is new-ish here and just needs some routes to get over the GWB, etc. One is a FEMALE (Dino's). I know, it's shocking to have women want to ride with me. So anyway, we'll be at Williamsburg bridge at 8, GWB at 9. Not sure how long they'll wanna go. Come keep it real, if you want. Word.
