@ Marc, et al- thanks for dealing with me on the way home after a great wormhole tour!!
2 bottles Osmo Orange
5 Kind bars
1 Cider doughnut
1 bag kettle cooked potato chips
1 Mexican Coca-Cola
1 gel (thanks, Marc!)
4 bottles water

The skin on my legs is pulsating.
Great. Damn. Ride. One of those days, especially after a long winter, where you're so happy you ride a bike. Good company and almost 100 miles.

Most importantly, Garrigan can now sport an official Kissena cycling cap, only soaked in sweat by your truly for 1.5 years. Chapeau!

Neil, Dave, and I had a great ride today up to Nyack.  Neil led us through some beautiful backroads in NJ into Piermont, while Dave successfully managed to bunny hop every obstacle in the road like a BOSS!  We hit up a few climbs in Nyack and stopped at the Piermont bike shop to refuel.  Was great to run into and FINALLY meet Kayt (hope you had an awesome ride).  About 3 hours in, I was definitely feeling the cumulative effect of heat, allergies, and hills.  Just when I thought I was shot, Dave and I managed to jump into a pace line of 15 riders from various teams (which was REALLY AWESOME) and before I knew it we were riding over the bridge.  With over 4 hours of saddle time, I make it back to my neighborhood anxiously awaiting the opportunity to suck down a Gatorade (and possibly some ice cream)….only to find multiple detour signs due to a CINCO DE MAIO PARADE!!!
UGH….no me gusta…….

Great day and a lot fun guys, thanks for the company!
^ it was a really enjoyable ride for sure; Julie thanks for setting it up, and Neil, fun to talk shop.  We were surrounded by Grand Fondo training rides on all sides in Rockland county; some A-OK, others-- like the group descending State Line 4-abreast-- that were really not cool.

Pacelining was great.  By the time i hit Vanderbilt and Flushing it was dehydration city... back to remembering how to ride in hot weather!

This reminds me of the one vital stat I did get (no computer on the bike) after the Apple Orchard ride:

I lost 7lbs. Yikes.

Didn't feel particularly dehydrated, but clearly was.
@Julie and @Dave Sharma- Really nice riding with you guys.  Sorry I didn't end up heading south with you but family obligations called. (I ended up riding the rail trail between Piermont and Nyack back and forth with my son and wife.)   Not all that sorry however that I missed the Fondo madness on the way back down.  To quote Dave (Sharma) it was very "Fondo-ey" out there yesterday.
Anyone want to head up to Pawling (train trip from Grand Central) one day this weekend?  Some great climbs there and would be doing the now defunct Pawling Mountain Road Race Course.

Lemme know if interested.
Anyone have plans for this weekend? I'm looking for long, hilly, and hard.

Went back and rewrote that from "long, hard, and hilly" for exactly that reason, Myles, but I just can't get one past ya.

@Konrad which day/time are you thinking?  I don't think I'm in any shape to race this weekend (unfortunate) so will be looking to do a nice ride going north, but not too late.  I'll be a lot, lot, lot (lot) slower than you though.
I'm shooting for 9am at the GWB for a normal Kissena ride on Saturday. I can easily be talking into 10am. Somewhat long, somewhat hilly, but not too hard. Sunday I think I'm heading out with Craig at 10am from the GWB to get out to Bear and back.
Brooklyn Half tomorrow, starting at 7am, runs through Prospect Park

NY Gran Fondo Sunday, GWB at 7am

I thought the NY Fondo was last Sunday.
Winter's finally over... time to switch to an indoor sport?

Warning No formatter is installed for the format not-found
I was planning Saturday 8am BB, 9am GWB. I was thinking low road or River Road out through Piermont on to Bradley/Tweed and maybe some other hills and then return home. Possibly refueling at Matties.

I think this suits Konrads requirements ??
Ian, that sounds good!!

I'm a maybe for tomorrow
C'mon Wes, doooo it. Dooooooo it!
Gran fondo is on Sunday. It's going up 9w to bear.
Is it possible to ride around it? Or can someone lead a ride out to the dam? either way, sounds like tomorrow is a good day to go long either way so I hope to see more of you there
I'm most likely in for tomorrow, though I might have to turn back a little ealier.
Planning on meeting the group at GWB...
Gwb 10am tomorrow for the ride w me and Konrad. Not sure about Fondo madness but we will be going up to Bear regardless. One way or another should be 100 miles easy. 250 watts/tempo pace the whole way. Small ring on climbs unless people want to go nuts.
noon gwb anyone?  easy miles before L&C tomorrow?  i need to stretch, still a little bruised from last weekend's crash
