Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Hey sorry to anyone that showed up this morning and I wasn't at GWB at 10. Ended up going a little later on to avoid the Fondo madness.
I don't think I'm going to race this weekend but I'd like to get some miles in.  Is anyone up for doing a ride that's a bit longer beginning a bit later?  Since I live up by the bridge the Piermont ride is 30 miles shorter for me than it is for Brooklynites.

Weather permitting; 6 hours in windswept rain is not something I'd like to do unless it's 75 degrees in which case the rain is fun.  Ideally someone else would lead the ride since I don't know the wormholes.

Maybe it would even just mean that when the 9 AM ride turns around we would continue going?  I'm open to suggestions.

Brendan, I can't for the life of me, figure out why you're not racing this awesome weekend of crits only 40 miles away...but...

If you don't have a wormhole leader, consider riding up to Nyack, then jumping onto 9W and then exploring by turning off the road here and there. If you keep close-ish to 9W you'll never get too lost.
Seriously, Brendan - go win something.
I should be out on Sunday 8am, BB.  I'm out of shape, have mercy.
Brendan, get with the program - http://telly.com/17L54

**minus the doping**
Sunday we could do a bear mountain drag.  That's still almost 100 for you, right? Or, I've never done the croton dam ride.  Not sure if the roads are cool.  I'm also very fat and slow right now...

Beware of Owens' claims of "fat and slow." He KOMed everything in sight last week during our Apple Orchard ride.
And I haven't ridden since!  But nursing school is DONE, so now I have one less excuse for not "training."

Also, since I won't be able to work until passing the nat'l licensing exam in early July (not to jinx myself), I need some sort of part time job.  Skills include: showing up late, taking too many coffee breaks, hooting around online, and avoiding physical labor.  If you guys know of anything, lemme know.  Thx.

Is this the kind of job you are talking about?

Not sure you are qualified.
Ok tentative date, so lemme know when you guys are meeting and I may trudge up there.  But it's me, so probably not!
Either way, congrats Jeff!
For you non-racers, 8am BB (Brooklyn side), 9am-ish GWB (NJ side).
Gorgeous ride today! Saw Jeff A and Paige, maybe Joel, and a Kissena woman I've never met — hello!

Did my Memorial Day duty of pulling a dropped soldier back to the city for the entire stretch of 9W between Tallman and the GWB. Somewhere before the state line hill, I look back and see a woman in a Civil War military uniform kit (Union) sitting on my wheel. She informs me that she's completely gassed, out of food, and didn't bring a spare tube or pump (eye roll). Apparently she was riding with friend in a Confederate kit (again, eye roll) and was going too slow for his liking, so he dropped her (by this point I've taken the eye roll QOM from Liz Lemon). I'm a well-prepared Kissena, happy to provide company, gels, and tube/pump assistance should she need it. But holy hells, this gorgeous weather is bringing out so very bad wheels!

I'll be out again tomorrow, looking to leave on the earlier side for 4 hours of steady tempo with about an hour of hard efforts. Leaving BB at 7am, doing RR, maybe Ash, back in BK before noon. Holla!
@Erika, I'm down for the ride tomorrow.  7 am BB works.  Sounds great.
I have been feeling sick all week and not racing - feeling better and looking for a long ride tomorrow. May join for a 7 AM BB but that might be a bit early.
Ryan, I could be down with a slightly later start. Either way.
Hey Joaquin and Erika I guess I don't mind the 7 AM start tomorrow. It'll be hot and crowded so getting a jump is likely wise. I wouldn't mind going up to rockland lake or even the orchards if anyone knows the way.
I'm in for 7. The two days and 20 minutes of racing this weekend haven't really done the trick.
I'm a maybe for 7. If so, I'll be on the West Side path carrying a machine gun.
Okay, I'm also in for 7.  See you guys at the BB.  Stokes, I think K-Edge is making handlebar mounts for those now (which means you should come).
i might try and join y'all. if I'm not there, don't wait up. Just got back from doing an out and back to Bear, so ill see how my legs feel in the morning.
Gonna be heading out a little later.. should be at GWB 9/9:30 for river road + bradley/tweed. Let me know if you're down and we can coordinate.
Might be in for 7, but turning around early.
Sources say River Road is closed due to landslide.  They also say the "cool" kids are riding it anyway.  Heads up just in case.  @Erika, I assume it's passable?
@Emily, Hmmm... I rode it today and didn't have a problem. The gates are up on the south side, but cyclists & joggers/walker abound!
Tomorrow is going to hurt
Good times today with @Ryan, @Joaquin, @Stokes, @Whitey, @Avi, @Erika and @Yang.

The tough guys left us at the turn for Piermont to do another seven thousand feet of climbing; Stokes, Avi, Erika & I turned back early.

We ran into Ed Nolan at the bridge and saw (no lie) a woman riding a road bike in lingerie.  All white, kit-fashioned lingerie.  SMH.

Stokes took the title of Wormhole champion by somehow leading us onto a highway onramp and then spitting us out south of the Intrepid.  It was odd.

The slope seems to be a ghost town today.

Fantastic ride. Turns out I grabbed a Strava KOM on the steep part of Clausland. And now...recovery time.
