Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Independence Day weekend group ride, anyone?

I'll be around David!

Anyone with a preference for Saturday or Sunday?  I'm open for either.
Either one is good because I am FREE!!!
Bear?
Sunday is better for me if we're going long.
If I don't go mtbing, I'd be game for bear on Sunday. Something long and hard
Thinking about a nice spin on Saturday. 60-80 miles. Thinking about zone 2'ing that jam... so moderate.

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?

Thinking about 8am BB folks.
I'm thinking about some family man (...er person) hours. Like 6am BB...
@Jules - If I manage to wake up early enough, I'm in for family person hours on Sat, but might be wheel sucking.  I'd like to save something for Sunday's long ride.
Most likely in for Sunday.

Most definitely out for 6am.

What is "Sunday's long ride?" Wormhole, Rockland Lake, Orchards, Bear Mountain? Who's the ring leader?

Vlad, I very well might be up for your Saturday ride. We could do an Inland Jersey special. Upper Saddle River, for example, even with the commute to and from Brooklyn, puts you in that mileage range.

No solid plans yet, but Wes's Bear suggestion seems pretty good.  Open to other suggestions and ride leaders.
Orchards could be nice. I'm coming off of a midseason break and not sure I wanna go from 0 to 116.
I'm down with that.
I'm in for either. I'd be interested in a more casual pace if we head up to bear since I'm not in good enough shape to hammer there and back.
I'm down for donut/endurance pace to orchards.
Anyone also up for a straight forward jaunt to Piermont and back on Saturday? Looking to keep the pace higher and the stops short to get back in time for potential afternoon summer fun.

As if there's anything more fun in the summer than an afternoon of bike riding. Jeesh....get it together Konrad! :-)
Definitely looking to get out both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday hopefully long and hard, then Sunday is just whatever feels fun.
So, tomorrow, Saturday, Joaquin and I are confirmed for BB8 GW9 for a long hard ride. Any other takers?

The plan is Rockland Lake by way of Alpine, Bradley, and Watertower, and then we hammer the heck out of things down 9W until we hit the GW bridge again.

Stops are "JP style" (just long enough to fill bottles and buy treats to eat on the bike). We can do some regrouping on the longer hills as needed, but in general, you should probably only come along if you're up for a very challenging ride, or if you're cool with breaking off and doing your own thing when you feel like it (which in my experience is likely to happen about the time Joaquin hits his groove coming back from between Nyack and Piermont. Dude hammers.)
^^CORRECTION: that's 7 BB 8 GW
Dang. Anyone want to meet up at the BB at 8, GWB at 9?
I'll be at BB at 8 Saturday.
Same
If I can wake up early enough, 6am BB. If not I will join the 8am BB crew.

Me too Vlad...I'm in. 9am GWB start. I'd like to do a 60-mile-ish ride bridge to bridge. New Jersey wormhole style. Hopefully the gang has time for such a thing.

Nice group ride today. Lots of Kissena's at the start, two groups. 1/2 went up to Piermont, while Vlad, Patrick, Wes and I went out to Upper Saddle River, NJ for fun times. Zone 2-ish on flats and rollers, more aggressive stylings on the climbs. 56-ish miles bridge to bridge. Fun times!

There was a guy in an NYU kit at the start, he mentioned something about emailing with Whitey. Anyway, then he disappeared, and I was worried that we weren't welcoming enough, (I was sort of spacey at the time myself) but the guys assured me that they invited him to ride with us. So that's good.

Also, good to see Eloy out there...he managed to instigate Vlad and I into a townline sprint. Vlad took it. Hopefully we'll see more of the original KCC cross fanatic this fall!
Konrad and I hit up 9W to Mattie's where he proceeded to go at a "moderate" pace. I had to do my best cuddles impression by clenching my jaw, and hung on for dear life.
