Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Yeah, yesterday was fun - William, fortified with a chugged bottle of Nesquik, put the hammer down on the first dirt climb up out of Piermont and swiftly gapped me and Marc. We caught back on once the chocolate milk had started to curdle in his guts and he had lost some of his resolve. From there it was, as Marc said, all gravely climbs and tech-y descents. Marc unleashed the beast a number of times during the day, beating me to the line on a few climbs and outsprinting me in a leadout up the "Strictly Bikes rise".
@ericmehlenbeck thanks for posting... this looks like a good idea for Sunday morn. I may opt to race instead of the memorial ride... will decide this evening.
Ok. I'm in for Floyd tomorrow morning. Kind of late to post a specific thread for this race... more folks will likely see it here anyhow.

Cat4 start is 9:15am, so I'll be at GAP at 8am.
I'm going to try to make it too. Don't wait more than a minute or two.
My ride plans for this morning were a bit foiled but i'm going to take the road bike out for a bit this afternoon. Probably just riding laps in Prospect. Text or call 347-746-ZOMG if interested.
Sunday group ride up 9W?
@John: I'm in the market for just that.
Where does the group ride leave from? I'd ride with you guys instead if it were fairly convenient for me to meet you.
@Christian --Brooklyn folks meetup at the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge (usually 8am), then meetup on the Jersey-side of the GWB (usually 9am). Some folks (Stéphane, for one) lives in Forest Hills Queens, so I think he shoots across the 59th street bridge for the meetup at GWB. Not sure where others depart from. Patrick Grehan may be closer to you and may have some helpful logistics info.

for tomorrow: I'm iffy... got lots of stuff to do, so may just do some laps 'round the park.
I'm down for a ride but bottling a batch so depends on the quality of hangover. :D If i'm there see ya at 8am, bk bridge, if not will probably do PP laps a bit later.

*edit* ended up running into Joaquin just after a sprint workout today in PP. Talked a little cross and hung on for a lap afterward, then split.
For all interested in doing laps in Prospect tomorrow: there is a walkathon. Their registration is at 9 and it begins at 10, so while they're doing a lap it will be a little bit hairy. I'll probably go out in the early/mid afternoon. I really need a day to sleep in.
@ jeff, I'm bailing on the ride... Too much partying.
@John: And you didn't invite ME?! Poor form. Very poor form.

It was blustery out this morning, and I somehow managed to catch a headwind both ways. Or at least it felt that way. Rode most of the way to Piermont, flatted, fixed, and promptly rode home because I discovered I lack rubber on much of my rear tire. I'm riding on thread casing. Very supple, I might add. The only Kissena I saw out there was Stephane going the other way as I was about to get on the GWB in Jersey. Hopefully nobody else was out there looking for a group ride -- I waited at the usual spots ...
@ Norm - many thanks for the info. I read your post last night actually and said no way. I'll likely never turn up at a Kissena group ride...too far away...

Instead I did the triangle ride this morning. Me, Jan and Lenny were representin'.
any takers for tomorrow AM?

i would be very happy with a 10am GWB meetup - there is a distinct possibility that i will get loopy tonight, and 9am is TOO early!
willie I might do that. I'll check in later on
I will probably go tomorrow morning as long as the precipitation is limited to a drizzle. i have to be back in Brooklyn by noon so I"ll need to leave the GWB by 9.
I'm expecting to be there at nine. Rain's not the issue for me.
tough night. missing the 9am. now shooting for 10. William, contact me offlist if you want to ride in the am.
'm a loser. I slept really late. Will be in Prospect Park dodging manatees from 10 to 12 today. I may drive out to Cunningham at about 3:30 this afternoon for some practice if the nice weather holds up. I can take 2 with me. Call me on 917-579-6580 if interested in going.
And here I thought I knew most workouts in the book... manatees?
Anyone riding in Prospect park this afternoon? Roll call!
I'm looking to get a longer endurance ride this Saturday. Anyone up for going to the Orchards or even... Bear Mtn?

I am assuming regular start time from GWB at 9am.

Patrick
That might be an option for me if the pace is not crazy (I'm still recovering from my Burlington crash 4 weeks ago).
@patrick

I could be talked into going the Orchards, wouldn't mind doing something sub 90 miles.
I'll be out saturday
Riding only in the morning. Maybe the Triangle ride.
I will probably use Sunday as a recovery day but would love to do some miles on Monday.
I can do miles Sunday or Monday, but nothing Saturday.

Hoping to do CX in Cunningham one day, long road the other if anyone cares to join.
I'd be interested in going to Cunningham on Monday... or perhaps even Sunday.

In either case I'll be at the GWB 9am tomorrow with plans to head to the Orchards. Weather forecast is for a beautiful fall day.
