Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

Why does Vanilla Forums think I want to use emojis rather than bulleted lists? I LOVE BULLETED LISTS!

I was thinking probably 9AM at GAP but playing it by ear to see when we start getting real snow or if snow is blowing too much to make it enjoyable.

This is more "playing bicycles" rather than "riding" so if you're A) afraid of getting your bike dirty, B) concerned about missing your training plan C) don't like it when things devolve to snowball fights and ends with hot cocoa this is not for you.

This from 718 Cyclery's website:

DUE TO POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS, THE FAT AND FROZEN FATBIKE RACE WILL BE POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY, JANUARY 30TH.

All, I haven't ruled out the possibility of riding on the road this weekend. Maybe Sunday afternoon around noon. Road conditions are key here. Obviously. I'll keep you posted.
Marc, I wouldn't count on it. Come join me in polygonal reality and hook up to zwift!
FYI we do have a Surly Pugsley - which we'd be happy to rent out - though I
think we'll be closed tomorrow... Give me a shout if interested
Ilya & I currently in Vancouver :)
@Dan Reiners
still up for playtime ?
The wind this morning is making it less likely. I might wait until the afternoon.
I'm going to venture out about 10

According to one weather reporter...she expects the worst of the blizzard to hit around noon. Frankly though, it's blowing hard already up in Washington Heights.
Wtf you've got skis?
Travel ban declared, and above ground trains are stopping.  Even though this doesn't include bicycles, best to stay off the roads because the plows can't see you.  The wind and extra snow can take down branches and power lines so I'm making sure all my essentials are fully charged, meaning my Garmin 500.
Exactly
Road to prospect , roads were fun , somebody shouted after me " yo bro, what tires are they"
anything not plowed too deep to ride ,
had to do it
I was out there too. I rode to a beer joint in Prospect Park and then rode home through the park. The road was fine for the most part but I did take one little spill near GAP. Looking forward to some sledding action tomorrow after the morning Zwift ride.
I'm going to send out the following dates for Meet Kissena Rides, please mark your calendars and join us if you can.  It's really great when we have a large team presence

Sat, Feb 27th
Sat, Mar 26th
Sat, Apr 16th
Sun, May 15th

Thanks for all of your help!
FYI 5.15 is Gran Fondo so it might be a bit crowded/hard to navigate
anything near the GWB/NJ.

Anyone want to ride this weekend? I can go out either morning.

Jill,
I'm concerned about the first date.  2/28.

Traditionally, we try to all an "all hands on deck" ride where everyone who is racing or thinking about racing in March comes out to play.  We usually ride en masse to the Rockleigh criterium course, do a short race simulation, and then break down into groups (2/3's,4's, wimmin) for the rest of the day.

It's a way to get primed for racing and see how your form is as well as your teammates.

Could we potentially do that on the Saturday?  Feb 27th?
I'd prefer a day when we can get maximum turnout from Kissena members.
That sounds excellent, JP!  Please suggest a date for that event and I'll work the Meet Kissena ride around it.  Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
@KaleyBell Sunday's looking good, a nice toasty high of 44

I've got family stuff keeping me busy most of the weekend, but will be able to get out for a ride Sunday afternoon. (fingers crossed) Strictly LSD. Let me know if anyone is up for a noon-ish departure from the GWB.
Can we maybe do a poll of sorts to have a few potential dates for the big all-hands-on-deck ride? I know there won't be one that works for everyone and the window of time is limited, but just in case there are a bunch of people like me who can't make the last two weekends of Feb...? :/
