Yes, there is a cone now! I think that it caused me to flat last week on the meet Kissena ride as I hit it pretty hard that am.
Facebook photo shows Kissena looking very good this weekend. Keep it up folks. A good group ride is something to be proud of.
Who's down for some Sunday riding?
I'll probably go to Piermont and back. looking for 100Km or so.
(depending on weather)
west side may be a disaster on the way back after 12pm

Thanks for the heads up. Will ride on the Avenue around if needed.

BTW. The Amricas Cup is the FUCKING MOST AWESOME HOTNESS. So might ride totally West Side, just to see if I can catch a glimpse.
tree/rockslide across alpine, FYI. it's an awkward hike over it, best to avoid river road unless they cleared it since 1 pm today.

will GFNY next weekend reroute?
a few us are planning to meet tomorrow...

Sunday May 8, at the Brooklyn Bridge 8am (GWB 9ish am) for about 4 hours of riding. Pace likely to be mellow.

Maybe we join the Redbeard ride for a little bit.

Rain might cancel or change start time, so, if in doubt, check here for updates.
Redbeard ride rolls from the shop at 8:05-8:15 - and the plan is to ride to
Market. Any / all Kissenas welcome!

At 9 AM tomorrow we have a social ladies ride to Doughnut Plant in LIC for
any Kissena gals who want to join us for a super mellow one

Raining hard enough in the slope right now.

Staying inside until rain dies down. Will reconsider around 8:30am -- either head to the park or a few zwift miles.
heading to prospect park 10:30 am.

text me if you wanna join me. 347.225.1058

Aiming for 30ish miles, could use some company.
Next Weekend, May 21 and 22 seem pretty light on racing.

I'm wondering if one of those days might be good for another skills session, either at the Velodrome (the calendar looks clear, but I'll check with people) or rockleigh, or somewhere else.

I'm thinking the velodrome session could be good, but I'm flexible.

thoughts?
I think there may be a decent sized group doing Battenkill on the 21st.

Is that even a race anymore?  ;)

JP,
It's a good idea. If you're willing to lead, I can set this up for next weekend.  I think Saturdays are usually better.  My preference would be for Rockleigh, but let's discuss over e-mail and see what you want to cover.  I bet I can get John in on it too, similar to last year.

Yeah, a pretty sizable contingent will be doing Battenkill next weekend.
Part of the contingent that will be at Battenkill, but I'd definitely like to get in on another skills session. Would the 29th be an option?

Jeff,
Bike Reg shows eight Kissenas signed up for a Saturday race.
Eric Robertson, David Hocker, Max Thorn, Scott Kuhlke, Joe Iberti, Riley Hoonan, James Shaw, you.

Can y'all make it Sunday?
I'm out of town this weekend.

6 of the above are going to Battenkill and will be riding the hills of Saratoga on Sunday.
The difficulty with the following weekend is that it's memorial day, so people will be away and there are races Sunday and Monday.

and if you look to the next month, there are races both days most of the time, save the last weekend in june, and there are lots of crits between now and then.

I'll put up a poll to better gauge interest.
This Saturday morning is the Brooklyn Half starting Washington Ave/Brooklyn Museum and through Prospect Park and headed to Coney Island. The last wave leaves at 7:45 am. Plan accordingly.
@Phil Maronilla, are you running?
@mugwump a big group of us won't be back until Sunday evening. Monday the 30th is memorial day, though. Could that work?
Riley,
5/28-seems open
5/29-Bound Brook Criterium
5/30-Tour of Somerville Crit
6/4-Watermelon Crit, Jordan race in Central Park
6/5-White Plains Crit, NY State Crit Championships
6/11-seems open
6/12-Riverton, NJ Crit
6/18--seems open
6/19-Harlem Crit
6/25-Maltese race in Central Park
6/26-criteriums in both PA and NJ
Thumbs up from this dude for 6/11
@mugwump ah thanks for clarifying. 6/11 works for me too.

New members (@AndreasHansen @DamianCox + any others) you guys should come, these workshops are super helpful.

Riley, Scott, et al,

I think we're a big enough club that we can do two such clinics, one this weekend and one June 11.  There are lots of new people and there's no racing locally this weekend, so far as I can tell.

And, if we do it at Rockleigh, the crit course we pass on our regular Sunday ride, it won't be a hassle to get to.

here's the basic outline of what I"m thinking:

about 60 minutes at rockleigh

a few laps to familiarize with the course.

Several laps of a rotating pace line on the course.

a segment where we have two groups, a lead group and follow group, and people are supposed to attack the follow group and bridge to the lead group.

dueling lead-outs—we’ll use water bottles to mark the finish line, 200m, 600m, and 1k.  One person accelerates at 1k to 600, the second 600-200, the last sprints.  We could have two three-person teams do this at once.  They take a lap to chill, then switch positions.
