I'm going to watch some PR and then try and head out to the park for an hour or so.

Despite the temperature reading in the low 30s, today's group ride was really sunny and pleasant. I met Max at BB at 8am and we joined JP, David H, and Brian at GWB. JP took us on one of his NJ wormhole rides and then we parted w him in Piermont where we watched the end of Paris Roubaix. Then, Max and David headed to Bear Mtn and Brian and I headed back to BK. Good times!

Kudos to Max and David.  the weather got better and better.

Hi all,

I saw the same parks dept officers ticketing. Apparently it is only a $40
ticket, but they are actively busting cyclists for riding through the
lights. They also don't want anybody crossing over the double yellow line,
so if there are cyclists already waiting for the light when you get there,
if you want to get around them, you really have to squeeze in (or just end
up waiting behind them) rather than line up next to them in the other lane.
This is even if you have the ability to get on your bike more quickly than
they do once the light turn green.

There was also an electronic sign reminding cyclists to watch the lights
and obey the signs, too.

Vlad Diesel and I rode River Rd (passed by about 30 Gran Fongoers on Alpine). Got box seats at Piermont bikes for yet another fantastic classic's beatdown. Met up with ex KCC Mark Inaba and did some hard paceline back. Quality spring weather. Crisp.

Something that I saw posted on FB:


I would like to give a heads up to all the 9W riders.... Last week I observe this crash just after the alpine climb exit heading southbound on 9W just prior to Closter dock Road. 

I was curious to how this could happen on such a clear open road and on my way home today I noticed there's a tremendous dip on the shoulder we ride to the right side. If you go into this dip you will not come out. Because it's too deep and to short for the front wheel to ride through

It's very hard to see as it's almost like a sinkhole if you will. Please be aware as it's on the fast part of the stretch

For Saturday, planning a ride to Bear Mtn (perhaps climbing 2x), followed by a run to Peekskill brewery and and taking the train back to Grand Central.

I got out at 10, did a measly 76 miles of tempo, and my only company were wheel suckers whom I burned off at the beginning on river road and end on 9w.  On the plus side, Ms. GFNY, Lidia Fluhme, who was groveling on my wheel for several miles, profusely thanked me.  Twice.  I was hoping for a free invite.  Guess it would have been better not to drop her.  

Fyi tomorrow,is 5 Boro tour so expect street closures across the city

I think someone put a traffic cone in this thing now?  Maybe we're thinking of different spots.
