Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

David, I'm in the same boat. Will probably be on NJ side of GWB at 9:10. Will look for u
I'm very late. Most likely will leave my place around 10 if anyone is interested
Hey all, I flatted right before state line. Got it worked out. Rolling to piermont, then home.
Nice ride, despite the headwind.  John and I headed up from Brooklyn.  We met Patrick, Brendan, JP, Greg, David H., Ulrike and Niall.

Easy to the low road and then a state-line sprint which Brendan took at Mach 1, I believe.
We learned later that David got a flat (I see your post).  Sorry we left you - there's no easy way to shout out when everyone's out of the saddle, I realize, and by the time we got to Sparkill, we assumed a couple of people had simply turned for Piermont.

That's where a future bike computer would come in handy, that shows all the little dots on a map, in real time, where everyone is on the group ride.

We climbed Clauseland, where the early morning breakfast I'd had remembered itself to me.  JP took off for greener pastures.

We stopped at the bike store for coffee, and Ulrike kept rolling.  I hope you got home ok.  There was a quaint bicycle adventure happening on the tele, with cobbles and a rider off the front.  And they had soy milk for my coffee - it was a welcomed break.

Back along 9W, we started a rotating paceline which was menaced by a small band of outlaw riders, jumping off the front, or riding along our left.  Still too early in the season to go hard enough to drop them.

We regrouped at the GWB and went our separate ways.

Brendan is looking good, as is everyone else.  Greg, who rode 91 miles the day before, still had pep in his pedals.  Niall and Patrick stayed with JP up Clauseland and got in a solid workout.  John and I rolled back home to Brooklyn; I ate everything in my fridge and passed out.  The cramping should be gone by tomorrow.

Nice to see teammates, and the sun.
^ Will, Mark, Ricky and I did the same except it was waaay cooler. Will is climbing like a Billygoat.

Considering the climb is closed and they're threatening ticketing anyone on the road, I think everyone's Alpine times are pretty slow these days.
I'll be out tomorrow. Once across the GWB, my only training goal is to to 60 minutes of tempo with fifteen 20-second sprints along the way (the TrainingPeaks workout). Otherwise I'm up for (almost) anything. Who wants to join me? I plan to be at the GWB at 11 a.m. or noon. If you're interested, text me at 479-841-8562 in the morning and we can work out a meet-up.
what time are people meeting at GWB tomorrow? I'd like to get spme miles in after tomorrow's race.
aiming to be at GWB at 10am if anyone wants to ride w me. I'd like to go up to Harriman or maybe do those hills JP rode solo last weekend.
i think i'll do a late saturday start this weekend 4/15, (working friday night), ~noon or so, anyone else interested?
@Brendan Rigby I'm game. Thinking I will do the PP crit that morning, rest up, then roll with you.

@Brendan Rigby Count me in.
what time??  i'm thinking like 11 am gwb or so?  what time are you guys thinking?
What happened to "noon or so" Brendan!"?!
sorry, distracted. i just didn't want anyone thinking that by late i meant 930 instead of 9 :)
Let's call it 11:30, GWB, shall we?
just getting back from work now, that sounds like a plan

Works for me. Driving to GWB from Brooklyn tho bc I have to go to NJ after the ride.

EDIT: Not going to make it. Catch you next Sunday.
I'll be late.
Go without me.
I'll write again when I'm rolling out.
Riding up with some Bicycle Habitat guys and one of them has a loose headset. I'm the only one with a multi tool so I've stopped to help. Looking like 9:15 or 9:30 for me. @mugwump does that work for you?
leaving now.  Will be at GWB by 9:25.  Will wait 5m and go.
Great I should be able to make that
I'm riding 9W to Piermont, leaving now.
not going to make it today. enjoy the weather!
@GregStreiff,
Sorry about not making it on time.  Hope there were folks to ride out with.

I did wait for 5m at the GWB, and yes, Max rolled up with Konrad Ratzmann and Wes Tillman.  Apparently, neither of those guys ride with a multi-tool, Konrad's headset was loose, and Max was kind enough to save the day for them.

Max and I took the low road, did a few diversions, made it out to Valley Cottage before  heading home.  Max was climbing well, but I think the relatively new heat got to both of us.  Bumped into Sebastian at Strictly--we were all looking for water, before heading over the bridge.

Did you know Max raced the Joe Martin Stage Race the other week and got 11th?  Neither did I.

Did you know Sebastian and Sean were at Trooper Brinkerhoff saturday?  Neither did I.
yoyoyo, plan is for me to be in NYC next weekend - April 29/30. I did hear a rumor of Will trying to get a Bear Mountain visit in anticipation of the Bear Mountain Classic, May 13.

With Orchard Beach May 7, I assume a May 6 scoping is out.

That leaves April 29/30 (or this upcoming weekend, but I assume y'all fools are racing) as the next opportunity.

So ... discuss amongst yourselves.
April 29 is the Red Hook Crit. April 30th has the Castelli series in Prospect Park. Hotness.
i am down for April 29th recon ride. can still race Sunday.

Any other takers?
