@JohnPowell I’m supposed to meet with @JohnMalcolmson on the way up to give him my Kask helmet. Let me check in with him!
Such a beautiful day today. Good turnout and first real ride for me in about a month.
I struggled on the climb out of Alpine but thought I’d try going for the state line early. @JohnMalcolmson made it very clear that it was a bad idea by pulling everyone past me.
The usual Bradley/Tweed loop with Patrick, Ben, and Darren:

536 Watts for River Road -- and basically 530 Watts (5W/kg) anywhere he KOM'd -- Rumour was that he only went for river road, but clearly he went for a few others.mugwump said:I was. I understand why nobody was there.
Proceeded to do what is basically my traditional Sunday ride.

But, when I was on Strava, I noticed that Ben King, the double stage-winner at the Vuelta, was riding our local roads on May 23 this year, hunting for KoMs. He did the ranger station hill in 3:05, knocking 20 seconds off the previous best time. But, despite his pro-ness, didn't tick off all the hills in the area. Only notching five KoMs--he only took three seconds off the KoM on stateliness hill. Considering that some of his efforts were labeled "PR" i guess he rides around here some, or at least once before.

Why? Begging to be asked. Will Kalbacker said:This coming weekend will be my last opportunity for a good ride for a while. Sunday will have to be the day. I am thinking of a ride up to Bear mountain. Will likely hit some climbs along the way. Since I am a fragile daffodil, I will probably ride across to Peekskill for a beer, burger, and train ride home. Company is very welcomed.
