Group Ride (Sat & Sun)

I’d be careful about riding those trails after all of this rain. CLIMB (the folks that build and maintain all of these trails) are pretty adamant about not riding if you’re leaving any deep ruts that’ll harden over time.
Kudos to CLIMB who seem to of added even more improvements every time I head there
Agree, and appreciate the note, was mindful of this, there was no location where deep ruts were being created. It felt a bit in fact, that whatever was moved by the storm could benefit from riding on top of it.
For those who prefer the road....

I'm planning on being at the GWB Sunday 9/5/21 at 9am.  Happy to ride in any direction.  Out to Oakland and or Mahwah or even the once-usual.

LMK
@mugwump I'll be there. Coming off a couple hard-ish days so I'm not trying to go too crazy haha.
So, Nigel and I met up at the GWB.  Just the two of us, both happy for the company and wondering where everyone else is.

No matter, riding was what we wanted.  We rode out to Paramus to Haledon to Wayne, Oakland, Mahwah and made our way back.

Overcast the whole time.  Got spit on by the clouds a good bit, then it stopped.  And then the rain finally hit when we were back at the GWB.

Nigel thought he was tired at the start, but we were hauling much of the ride.  The final 40 minutes or so we started running out of steam, but we still managed a pretty healthy pace.  Good times.

Love to try it with a large group someday.

A better picture of river road
I mean... NJ can have their very own cobbled classic race on that!!
Shame to pave over that
Anyone wanna ride tomorrow? (Sat 9/11)

Can't make it.  Sunday is my day.
Sunday at 9am at GWB.  Anyone?
@mugwump I'll be there.
I’m game to join. Only hitch is I promised to ride with a non-kissena buddy tomorrow. He’s actually been considering joining, so it would be great prospective opportunity, if others are down with that. He is comfortable in a pace line and has a mean sprint (he’s also vaxxed).
@AdamYaffe I'm down with it. The more the merrier. Especially since I did 115mi today and totally intend to wheel suck the whole ride tomorrow haha
Turns out it will just be me. My buddy had an early hard out so he’s gonna do CP.
Three Kissenas at the GWB for a ride!

Adam, Nigel, and me. (James R, this was the ride! I know you had CX today.  Another time)

They let me pick the route. I wanted to go through Ridgewood (I love Crest road) out to Oakland, then follow 202 to Mahwah, then climb Campgaw on the way to Ramsey, then Saddle River and back.

Probably should have kept it more social.  But the throttle was turned most of the way.  Probably my fault.  with more people we could be faster, cover more miles, and still be more social.  (hint)

We were averaging over 19mph most of the way, and we backed off a bit in Cresskill.

A pretty sweet ride.  Thanks to Nigel and Adam.

Our time from the GWB was 3:16 and covered 60.6 miles.

I loved the short cobbled climb on that route. Another time for sure!

Yea, it was cool. I have to be honest that I cheated on it and took the non-cobble side halfway up before I switched over to the cobbles. You can put an * next to my Strava time lol
Planning on doing 120-130mi tomorrow. If anyone wants to join, you're welcome to!
Nigel, I'm not sure I can make it, but when is your start time assuming NJ side of GWB?
@David Yang  I could be at the GWB around 9ish. Heading west out towards Oakland NJ then looping back. i have a route planned. Let me know.
Not trying to compete with Nigel's ride.  I'll be at the GWB at 9am Sunday.
Sorry @mugwump. I was originally planning on meeting up with you, but my ride today buried me. Think it was the heat. Just gonna do an easy ride around me.
Hanging at gwb nj at 9, but will probably have to turn around pretty early.
Good times. Headed out early to spin easy up to GWB from eastern Queens. John M and JP met up at the bridge and Jeff C, Mark and Matt and caught up shortly afterwards up the road. Perfect day out and got my legs properly torn off by these monsters.

Only photo I have while John was reseating his tire. If we did pause for this Mat may not have caught up with us!

Very much an OG saunter.

I haven't done a rumble like that down 9W in ages.  Moar, moar.

BTW @Matt Budofsky speaking of sprint watts, I hit 1200w peak on that last sprint - a number I don't think I've seen in... 5+ years. And you all still blew right by me.
I never saw numbers that high ;)
I'm getting major FOMO for this ride you guys did. I'm disappointed I didn't just suck it up and go!
