Fantastic day out, Last weekend I was on 9w with Patrick and was jealous seeing all the the big groups out, so I was committed to joining the ride even if my bike choice wasn't ideal ( Turned out it actually handled itself pretty good)
@RichardKaufmann , it only took a couple of tries before you got the handle of the pace line.

Saturday 9am GWB? Piermont and back. I definitely cannot promise a fast ride.

Sunday Group Ride?

We might be limited a bit by GFNY, as it's on, and they take in a number of roads we frequent.

We can still work around them, but my preference is to take people inland if they have the time and a taste for adventure.

I completely dig that idea. Got Covid right after a recovery week, so I’ve been roughly three weeks off consistent biking. I need a bit of a longer ride as a kick in the rear to get back to riding and training. 

Richard joined me.  And Marc Bertucco joined us.  100% wormhole.

We went west to Wayne, then north and east, for my first group ride since March.

Awesome ride! Had no clue where I was for 95% of it, which made it feel like an adventure. Bit of everything - some climbs, some chill country roads, some some highways, even a surprise gravel section that I nearly wiped out on! 

Anyone interested in GWB to Bear Mountain on Memorial Day weekend? A later weekend? I’ve never gone as far as bear but I want to try on a nice weather day.

I could be up for it! Only done it the once, but it was a lot of fun.

I will be leading the Saturday May 21 group ride, 9am from GWB (8am BB if you're coming from Brooklyn), heading to Piermont via River Road. This will be a Meet Kissena ride.

Bummed to be missing it.  I'll be out on Sunday for those who either want to double-up or can't make the first party.

I have a new prospective member Bryan who can't make Saturday's New Member ride however he can do the Sunday Ukraine support ride, so I suggested that for him to join with that ride. If it's a more chill kind of event where he can also meet new members.

Nice size group on Saturday of only current members, no prospectives showed. The route was a mix of 9w and inner roads to Bradley Tweed to Piermont, where Eloy joined us. Paceline on 9w back to the GWB. Cool and foggy spring like morning became hot and humid summer by the end.

Just me on Sunday.  Kind of traditional.  After I made it down to the low road, I climbed Hillside Ave to Closter Dock and then Rockleigh to get some more hills in.  

Melted some.  Glad the first hot ride was today, not a race day.

Had to get back earlier on Saturday so ended up going up to River Road and doing Alpine climb repeats. Fog was super dense in the AM - river road felt like a rainforest. 

Any losers like myself , who don’t have weekend retreats , around for a group ride?

Kissena New Members ride is on for Saturday, June 4th, 2022 starting from and ending at Hilltop Bikes. Riding up to Piermont NY introducing 3 new interested riders. The start time is 8 am at Hilltop Bikes, followed by 9 am arrival at the NJ side of the GWB.

Sunday, 7:30am @ GWB, riding to Bear Mt. with @AdamYaffe

This will be a similar route to the Super Bowl Century, minus the snow.
