Didn’t make it either - someone I had dinner with last night was coughing this morning - so waited on the all clear from their Covid test. All good, so going on a repeat of yesterday.
Hope everyone had - or is still having - a great ride!
I was hoping to get in my big ass birthday ride today as my birthday was yesterday and I've been slowly recovering from whatever bug/cold I picked up last week. I wasn't sure I'd be able to do the ride either day, so I was taking it super-easy, trying to rest up as much as possible.
I'm resting so much that I"m having trouble sleeping, but my body has still not returned to 100%. Alas. First world problems.
so, I headed out today thinking I should give myself the option to go all the way. By the GWB, I knew I didn't have it, so I was thinking I'd just to the traditional sunday ride.
And then I saw Mark and Jeff at Hudson Bikes. Jeff was getting his Di2 charged. I figure I could ride with them. And we did.
Made it to Cresskill, and then we headed for a wormhole.
Pretty much hanging on for the whole thing ,glad we got you at 80% :)ended up with a 95mile day ,7 water bottles and an awesome hydrant shower near home
On July 30th I'll be doing a ride up in CT and anyone is welcome to join!
We'll take the train from GCT to New Caanan CT which takes about 1 hr 20 min. Its very worth it though as the town plops you onto some great rural country roads. My goal would be to get to New Caanan right around 7:30/8.
This is the route I am planning. I have never done this full route but have done portions of it before. The route bring us through some nice towns. We could stop for lunch as well if we'd like but we can figure that out later.
My guess is we'll be home around 4PM back at GCT. Let me know if you're interested!
@David Yang Great callout - thank you. I just checked and I think we'll actually be alright. The routes are parallel for a while but on different roads
Looking to go long-ish but steady on Sunday and include Bradley/Tweed/Sparkill with standard river road or low roads route. Thinking 8a GWB to avoid the afternoon heat.
