I am in for 9am GWB. I may ride up to Strictly to buy hand warmers if I am waiting and it gets insanely cold.

I would love to venture out, but my wife has to work and I have to take care of my kids.
I'm out. Too much of a wimp.
can we do a group ride Monday? I hate the cold!!!
I'll be there. Remember to stop on the sunny side of the street.
I'm pulling the plug. Gonna thrash around Floyd for a few hours midday if it warms up enough; if not I've got a (gruesome) date with (on) my trainer.

THIS!
haha. Following the wimp out lead. Just walked home 40 minutes. It's COLD with the wind. I'll see you Monday if you can make it. Trainer day tomorrow. Booooo.
I'm going to try to get home right after work and do 2 hours in the park tomorrow (Monday) and would love some company. I'm hoping to start by 3:45. If the company is good, I'll stay later.

Had a great ride today with JP. We did the standard Kissena route until state line, where we turned left, joined the paved railtrail and rode it to West Nyack \ Blauvelt. We went north a drop more, cut over on rockland 36, and went over to Bradley and Tweed.

Ran into Patrick briefly on Tweed. Patrick took 9W back, JP and I went via Piermont to the dirt roads of Taliman park, then back to 9W.

Great cold weather riding, the roads were quiet, small amount of both drivers and cyclists. Newspaper to block the tears in my almost ready to replace booties, light base layer under a heavy base layer, and knee warmers under my bibs and I was a toasty camper.
Josh-

That doesn't sound like much fun to me.

The weather next weekend looks great.

Mike
FUCK I HATE THIS WEATHER.

Had an epic workout scheduled; tried to get it started on the trainer but even though I had everything rocking; including (INCLUDING!) Jack Burton I couldn't bear it. Pulled the plug after ten minutes and fled for the park, where I ran into Harry "Guns a-blazing" B and Mitch "Beastman" Sonies.

Did about half what I was supposed to before the after effects of sleeping training a 10 month old kicked in my legs went from Particle Cannons to noodles in the space of about 5 minutes.

Think I set my 30 minute record though.

Glass is half empty today. Warming my toes now listening to Alvin Ailey while the kids sleep. Small victories.
I can't get on the trainer either...this will be my 'off week'!
Awesome trainer ride today - could have kept going longer after I realized that I can rubber band my phone to my stem and watch netflix - Top Gear!!!

Never had a 1:50 trainer ride actually enjoyable. I did realize that I needed chamois cream on this ride though!!!
It was so windy out...
Love this one:
Cold & Windy, but picturesque.
Very stylistic...
we have to do a ride out to river road tom who is in 8am or 9am bb!!!
Gotta bag that Cat 4 35+ pro contract first!
Till then this sad fucker has to show up at work... Good greif man, those beans ain't gonna count themSELVES you know...
Blahhh. Wanted to shoot myself after 1:30 interval-work on the indoor trainer today. Decided I needed more work, so hit the gym later in the evening. Can't wait for Cali camp and some bike-friendly weather!
Perlberg,
Watch it!

With my megawatt smile and Josh's ripping good yarn--wherein dead animals almost magically appeared on the roadway as the grim reaper entered and re-entered the story (it was a swedish tale)--we were warm and the time passed by too quickly. With more of you out there, it would have been more fun and faster. Better training, bigger smiles, and a woolier story.

California bound,

I guess I shouldn't be amazed that people who refuse to spend money on gear that will make them warm outside here will spend vastly more to fly out somewhere warmer for a few days break. http://kissena.info/forum/extensions/Vanillacons/smilies/tongue/middlefinger.gif

Nosson,

I think it's too cold to do hill repeats at a VO2 max; you'll roast on the way up, freeze on the way down and return home having trouble bending frozen clothing and having difficulty shifting through frozen gloves. But if you must, bring a backpack with a fresh set of clothes for the ride home.
forget it Im not riding alone Il just ride in the park instead!
anyone want to ride with me in the park tom? any time
JP's been on fire lately with his witty posts.
That's right JP!

I'm not hating on people who ride in the bitter cold. Ya'll got guts.

Below 20 is too cold for me. My face burns and stays red the rest of the week. And I whine and am in general pretty miserable company.

If the weather continues looking good for this Sunday, we should plan a big group ride and maybe even do some crit stuff. Then we'll repeat the 28th.

Mike
below 30 is too cold
i'm in for a late morning/early afternoon ride over the bridge on saturday (not sure if that works for anyone else - have to drop my wife/kids at LaGuardia in the morning so won't be able to make it for the usual meeting spots)....

and then a morning ride on sunday, the usual 8 am BB..... fo' sho'.

it's early in the week, but the forecast looks dry and low-40s for the weekend. perfect!
