THIMBLE IS COMING.

9am GWB.
Ill be in attendance but I don't know how much of a contest ill be...just looking to get miles right now.
I will be there. Plan is to win everything.
8am at the BB dudes. Bringing your chachkes?... who cares! Anyone want my 2012 Jarden Westchester Triathlon arm warmers?
Is this or is or is this not a jawbone ride. We have to decide.
good times

Cunningham Park CX ride tomorrow:

Sunday
8am GAP
9am Cunningham Park
11:30 back at GAP.

Who's in?

God I'm slow. When it goes it goes.... try again tomorrow, right?
'cross practice sounds good. I'll be at Cunningham.
Well

I thought the jawbone was today

I'm at the gwb if anyone wants to snuggle

The Saturday ride was fun. I was slow and tired. Ryan and Aly kept the climbs very honest and Jeff motored away on the flats.

I saw a very large wild turkey on my descent of Bradley. It looked delicious.

The doughnuts Jeff Owens was raving about were not very good at all. Doughnut Plant or Dough are the gold standard IMHO.

@William - Great to ride with you today!!!
great seeing mike and wai today . . . it's been too long

i actually saw the Jawbone ride yesterday.  i was in the café north of stateline feeding my woman a muffin went you all went barreling by, scattering the freds like 10pins.
@mperlberg Agreed on the donuts - don't believe the hype! Although, full disclosure, this vegetarian did not eat the bacon-topped one, so my menu tasting did not include what some call the crown jewel of donutry.

As for the rest ... I don't think I'd call this past Saturday a real "Jawbone ride." There just weren't enough ppl there and those who were weren't really gunning for it.

Happy to throw the JB up for grabs again next Saturday if ya'll want it!

We really need WDC there anyway, he's the only one who knows the ritual.

The bacon doughnut was not great either. Want some amazing over the top doughnuts? Try traveling to Austin Texas for Gourdoughs:

oh can't forget, for the vegetarians:

Funky Monkey

FUNKY MONKEY
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Some of it is still on my chin.
I like the fact the donuts aren't overly sugarized and covered in syrup.  Donut Plant is ok, but also overpriced and gimmicky.  I'm not saying Gypsy are the best in the history of ever, but I liked them enough and didn't have to deal with Bunberry's weekend jam.  Plus the owner is a nice guy and into bikes.
i wish i could be there, ryan, but i'm out of town next THREE weekends (funk dat)

re: jawbone ceremony . . . as long as you make a big deal about it and wave it around before the climb and have a lot of fanfare in the handover and someone takes a picture and someone plays a bugle, then you can basically wing it.

you guys will do fine

[so proud of my little possums]
There was no ceremony. There was no contest. Ryan killed everyone and the jawbone stated hidden in his pocket. Not sure he even brought it.
There is a century ride happening in the catskills this saturday. it is open to cyclists of all levels. I'm prob going to go with a friend of mine. It leaves from Saugerties, NY.

This made my body hurt watching it.  I'm old!

So that was the bike shop I worked at in college. Bunny Hops. I still have my t-shirt. Go RVA!

Anyone up for htis sUnday 10/07/12?  9am at the GWB.  looks like the rain is forecast later and later.

I'll be there rain or shine.
Maybe.  Depends on my "recovery".

Had a nice medium-hard ride with Vlad, Ryan, and Gardiner today, featuring Closter Dock climb agony, a kid's science fair at the observatory and some Runcible Spooning.  Gardiner killed everyone.  I suck.

Oh, I should say we *had* a nice ride with Vlad, b/c once we got back over the GWB he mysteriously rocketed off on some sort of imaginary Grant's Tomb sprint and kept going, never to be seen again.  I guess we only have 5 months to train for it, so we better get on it.
Jeff,
I damped my legs a bit today.  Only 3800 miles, but about 3800' of climbing (according to Garmin).  So worry not.

Then again, maybe the climbing served as openers.

I had some leftover energy and channeled my inner Malcolmson... all the way home.
