Good lord!  A 77 lb dachshund?

I'll see if I can find my road bike in the dark and roll up the west side bike path from the village.
Last week Vollbach and I sang highlights from Westside story as we crossed the GW.

Turns out we both played Riff in High School.

If he shows, you all are in for a treat!

@Ryan. I think our rides would feel much more inclusive if you would post a setlist before hand so we can all learn the lyrics and join in.

I'm not interested in being inclusive, I'm interested in making great musical theatre.
BTW, since there are so many of us, does anyone wish for me to bring el-Jawbono?
If you want to keep it.  Doesn't sound like any in-shape climbers are coming.  OH wait, Joe will be there.  Yeah bring it so you can surrender it to him.  SNAP!

I have the pink bar tape back.  Prepare to die.

The jawbone is coming and will be up for grabs on the climb out of Piermont up Nike lane.

Then we'll get treats.

Don't forget Jules! Mr. top ten every cross race. He's a bitch on those climbs when he's in shape.
Oh also, please no one be scared off by the BS goofball posturing we do. My hope is that tomorrow will be pretty chill, save for the hills, on which we will try to kill each other.

Then, like I said, we'll get treats.
@Jeff-That's no dachshund.  That's a miniature sea lion.
Isn't "prepare to die" Owens-code for "imma Gonna sleep in?"

I'll show up with my cold gear. 30 degrees with 15mph winds.

Looking chilly. See you soon.

Heh, you guys missed a fun "event" by turning back before Nyack.  Stokes, Mike and I got buzzed on 9W by a honking madman who then threw on his brakes to politely converse with us.  I guess Stokes was slightly too close to the white line and this was clearly the breaking point in his beautiful Saturday morning.

Stokes is being diplomatic and trying to diffuse the situation.  I know *I* won't help, so I lay back.  Then Mike starts taking a photo of his license plate b/c the guy is so irate and insane, this pisses him off so he comes over.  I tell him to calm down and relax, that we can talk about it but screaming won't help.  He starts yelling at me for giving him the finger. I ask him, why were you looking in your rearview mirror to even see it if you hadn't done anything wrong?  I ask him what's worse, a hand gesture or almost killing someone?  He asks me to give him the finger again and I want to know if he's going to kiss it or bite it off b/c he's a fat fuck.  This obviously helps a lot!  Heheheh.

There's some other bullshit back and forth and then I tell him that if he's such a tough guy he should call the police, I'll wait right there.  It ends with me asking him why his life is so shitty that this is how he chooses to spend his Saturday mornings.  He asks me why my life's so bad that this is what i do on Saturdays.  I dunno, riding bikes is pretty fun actually! I don't almost give myself a stroke for the slightest indiscretion.

That said, we need to be better citizens on the low roads and narrow roads when there's traffic.  Only double file when it's wide, like on 9W, or super clear.  We held up a lot of cars today unnecessarily.

Jeff warned me and I was prepared, but I died anyway.  God I'm shelled.
Great ride though; much needed after the past week.

Let's keep the bunny hopping downed power lines just between us though.  No reason to repeat that in front of wives.

As for the altercation... WTF.  Lotta rage in this town.
I miss all the good stuff. Stokes diplomatic? Wish I was there.

good call on getting the license plate.  And one-upping hte guy on cops.

As for riding two abreast, so long as we have the law on our side, we should do it.  Holding up cars?  Not our problem--safety is our concern.
SUNDAY RIDE?

I'll be at the Jersey Side of hte GWB at 9am.  ANyone else up for a lovely time?  Maybe we can find Jeff's friend and chat him up, too.
Maybe he became enraged that Romney is down in the presidential polls.

I can't go long tomorrow but will ride in prospect in the AM. Would anyone like to join?

Thinking maybe warm-up plus 50 min cross race simulation on the road bike. Start around 7:45 I'm a little flexible in terms of workout and time.
I'm up for a ride in the park tomorrow but early afternoon, when kids are napping. Say 3-4 pm endurance pace.
I may well join either Mike or Jules.
