You've gotta play nice @jfogden, especially after 8am in PP... even if the they're a-holes.

Sharing that resource is the key to our welcomed (and continued) use. Let's hope that the highly publicized collisions/comas/lawsuits that were occurring this time last year, and which led to another furor, are behind us.

Hey vlad, diplomacy is my middle name... take a deep breath. I actually thought it was pretty harmless - like a dress-up day for summer camp 'adults'. Sorry if my tongue/cheek wasn't obvious enough. Thing was, they drew so much attention to themselves a police van showed up and herded them into the bike lane proper, out of ped and car lanes and kept them moving... said police followed them for a while barking orders on his megaphone, by then I was finished so I didn't stay for the rest of the parade. I can only imagine the moaning at the pub about the 'cops messing up their ride'
AFAIC the park is for recovery and cruises, training is over the bridge or around the bay unless, like you said - its pre 8am
This sunday is club cx championships....group ride east to Eisenhower park

Who's up for a ride tomorrow morning? Al B wants to get down. 8am at BB as usual although I could be talked into 9am if WDC feels like being soft.

Any takers?
I'm still figuring out my weekend, but good chance I'll be there tomorrow too.
Guys,
Ride those skinny tires over to Eisenhower park, ring a cowbell, eat a waffle and ride back. UCI races don't grow on trees.
If you go group riding instead of to supercross jules will poke your eye
out with a stick.

Also, please consider giving up one of your group ride days to come and volunteer. I know that technically the L&C cups in PP are our races too, but this, in my mind, is THE weekend that I really consider OUR races.
Give jules ur clothes. Ride here, shower, hang out, ride home

I think it's super cool that we've got this race going on and I know how hard it is to put these things on, but I want to try to go on a group ride tomorrow... I'm not going to get talked or bullied out of it.

There's no reason that we shouldn't be doing both.

Hey, guys. There's a charity ride being organized in part by the Alba brothers to help raise money to assist those hurt by Hurricane Sandy. It's this Saturday and includes an upstate ride. It's a wonderful way to give back and get a nice social winter ride in as well. Here's a link to the website for the event. http://www.ride4ny.org/news.php https://www.bikereg.com/Net/17816
Anyone riding tomorrow?
Yes please. 9am BB meetup to offset the Sandy benefit group ride leaving from Morningside Park at the same time?
so late!! sandy ride leaves at 8:30 from gwb i believe
I am fine with 8 or 9, but would prefer 8.
I'll be out for a Sunday ride. 8 a.m. BB, 9 a.m. GWB.

Me too.

correction: sandy ride actually leaves gwb at 9am tomorrow.
Alright, fuckit. 8am BB. Keep in mind that there is a good likelihood that we will encounter the Sandy group ride bunch at the GWB at 9am - Registration will start at  8:30 AM at the New Jersey Side of the George Washington Bridge 1 block North of the bike and access path on Hudson Terrace.
8:30AM reg = 9:00AM clusterfuck at the GWB.

Anyone up for an 8:30AM BB meetup?.. Jeff White?
I dont think the ride will be so big so you (we, potentially) could easily go around it. also it's a charity ride, so it shouldn't be very fast. I'm also thinking of participating in the ride and head off from state-line on upwards.
I'm thinking of joining tomorrow too. So is it officially 8am at BB?
There's 50 riders pre-reg'd for the Sandy ride, any K's participating?
I'm up for 8am/9am GW.
Ok, official fuckit... 8am BB
I'm in for 8am BB.
I may drive (from LI) to start at BB tomorrow. Where along the bridge do you meet up? Any recommendations for nearby free parking?
I am going earlier (7:30), will be doing Alpine repeats. I know, I know its too early to be doing hill repeats but I am climbing "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerro_de_la_Muerteon Jan 06 with a couple of buddies. See you guys there.
8 it is then. Patrick I think there's on-street parking in Dumbo; I would try around Jay and Sand Street. And It's just around the corner from the entrance to BB at Tillary St.
Yeah Pat, we meet at the entrance to the BB. Let's go on a mish to find Gardiner.
