What's the plan for tomorrow? 9am GWB? Roll call please it's too cold out to stand around and wait...

FWW- I'll be riding in the Park today (New Year's Day) from 1:15 til about 2:45.
Good times today. Met up with Ryan, Vlad and Canadian Mike and dashed out to Piermont picking up "Czech Friend" along the way.. Did the "Nike loop" and then dropped back into town where we found Johhny Wrongway and his faithful domestique Dr. Aly. Reunited we shot back home in time for lunches - stopping only to recover the little bits of pride left shattered as Canadian Mike (nicely) uncorked on the final uphill sprint. After a week of fever dreams and travel I was happy to be able to limp along and provide comedic support... I was definitely the slowpoke of the day... Vlad, Aly and Ryan all look like they are lean and strong as (bleep) John as we all know never get out of shape; he hung on to the last as Canadian Mike tore ass uphill. 2013 is gonna be good :)
Hotlist is worried. Jeremy Powers is busy finishing in the back of the pack in Belgium and tweeting how awesome it is not to get lapped, Jonathan Page seems to be getting his own head out of his own ass, and if he doesn't manage to self distruct, he might be good at Nationals/Worlds, Tim Johnson is about where we all expected him to be, in Europe trying to get his mojo back after some wins on domestic soil. But Canadian Mike is riding with you jokers to Piermont get ready for World's? Jeeshus Cripes. Please tell me that he's got some secret training plan that we don't know about?
He's got a secret plan, trust me.
Oh I almost forgot; Ryan wore Panda gloves. True story.
@Ryan-Genuine Panda fur?

I'm pretty sure they were hand-tuggussed off the Panda.
Oh my.
@Jules,
If he's not motorpacing for an hour at race pace at least twice a week, he probably needn't even go down to Kentucky.
Im unsure the last time a Canadian man finished not "-1lap" at world's.

Tell him weve got a scooter et all out here ready to go.

Black and white Spa Sport mittens is all.
FWIW, Canandian Mike looked scary strong. The way he flew by us on the climbs, doing reconnaissance and checking in on us was analogous to someone taking a border collie off the leash while hiking. He kept darting in and out of sight so quickly and so frequently that it made me feel uber extra insignificant as a climber.

I invited him out to our computrainer sessions. Let's see if he takes us up on that.
let me explain something I figured out the last time I was in Europe.

Remember when you were a kid, playing pick up baseball with your friends in
the park? Someone would show up with a bat, and someone else would show up
with a few old tennis balls, then some more guys would show up with gloves,
and before you knew it you had a game. You'd take turns pitching, since no
one really can anyway, and every once in a while you would get up to pitch,
lob one over the plate and whomever was batting would unload huge on it,
sending a well worn "wilson 3" zipping by, inches from your head.
"Fitzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Bart Wellons actually_makes_that_noise when he rides by you.
Yeah I did Nike Lane within 10-15 seconds of my all time best. no one else was in sight after the steep bumps but all of a sudden there he was. He must outweigh me by 30-40 lbs but he just rode alongside me. I suspect he could have buried me if he wanted to but he was too nice.
After Strictly full tilt hill sprint, (spent watching Garrigan's back wheel cruising away), I asked him how many Watts he was putting out up there: 1600 Max/1000 30 sec. That's fairly high numbers for a Border Collie... more likely an Eskimo Husky.

I got hone at 4.30am yesterday morning - no way was I making 9am at the GWB.  Met up with Keith (who also worked into the wee hours on NYE) at 10am and he took me on a lowroads route to Bradley along Rte. 505 that I had ne'er laid eyes on.  I felt stronger than I had expected to on the climbs - which is to say, I didn't feel like complete butt.

Got home, showered, then climbed into bed with my wife and ate pizza and watched old SNL episodes all afternoon.  Good start to the year.
1600 watts is almost as much as Marianne Vos...
